Yes, it does. You can now buy all the personal items you might need in 3 oz. sizes. If you wear a jacket that has to go into a bin as well. Sometimes I think I'm going to be naked before I get through security, so do pay attention to all of Heather's suggestions! I pack my computer and camera in a carry on bag so I can wheel them through the airport, but they always go on board with me!!

Yes, toothpaste counts for the 3oz rule. They sell exactly 3oz travel size tubes but security even gives them a good look over because they look big to them so those tiny toothpastes we find work better for travel.

Kristin.. cushioning for the laptop - clothes

Can't tell you how many times I've accidentally left something in a bag that had to be thrown out. I've had knock-down drag-out fights with TSA over things like verified prescription medication; I've been given trouble over carrying on my glucose meter (one TSA lady asked me pretty personal questions about my diabetes, and proceeded to give me tips on keeping my sugar down---she was sweet, but it was kind of frustrating!), I had a guy scream at me in Baltimore one time, he called me stupid because I had to put Jake down to fold the stroller (it was the big convertible kind, I can't travel with my umbrella stroller), one guy yelled at Bailey when she was about 2 years old because she didn't know how to walk through the scanner. If you are organized, men in line usually step up to help, especially men with children. Bailey was patted down and searched twice before she was three.

Usually, though, they are helpful, but EVERY airport is different as far as what they'll let you bring through, and how they want you to load stuff on the belt. In Jackson, MS, you have to separate everything---shoes by themselves, computer by itself, camera by itself, jacket by itself. One pair of shoes in one container, etc. Security is much tighter there than in Baltimore, which is strange considering how close BWI is to DC and Ft. Meade (NSA), especially. There are absolutely no accompaniment passes in Jackson; they haven't let DH help me to the gate in six years. (This last trip was the first exception; it's the customer service agent you have to convince.) In Baltimore they don't bat an eyelash, they just give my mom the security pass.

Anyway, just be prepared, Heather gave you all the great tips, and go in a good mood with a smile; no matter what, saying "please," "thank you," and knowing those guys and gals aren't frustrated with you, they're just sick of the stupidity, helps a lot.

Hope y'all have fun! I'll be in San Antonio the following week, I'll think of everyone---leave some residual energy for me on the Riverwalk!

How . . . er . . . fun! Traveling with a toddler is always a joy. I hope you have someone to meet you at the airport to lend a hand!

Unfortunately, no ... which is why I'm trying to be super-prepared. If only I could grow a couple extra arms... LOL. Thankfully, Danica's a super easy-going, happy-go-lucky type, so the plane trip itself shouldn't be too bad. (At least, that's what I'm hoping!!)

That stinks! Good thing she's a trooper. What's she going to do while we're scrapping? I can't imagine ANY kid is THAT easy going!! LOL

Dani is going to keep Mike entertained or vice versa.

Unfortunately, because of the longer flights Kristin has to take, she is arriving Thursday & we don't arrive until Friday but once we get there, Mike has offered to help be a Dani-keeper for the weekend which should be good because trying to keep Mike entertained otherwise could be just as difficult as Dani

Yes, thank goodness for Heather & her built-in babysitter... don't think I'd be attempting this trip without their offer to assist. Once again, Heather saves the day!!!

Whatever you do Heather, please DO NOT come naked, but do bring your laptop, I want to see your genius at work!

No worries there! It may be hot there but I don't leave the house without clothes!

The laptop is cleaned up, has CS4, PhotoTools2 and all my digi supplies loaded. Thank you Bridge for writing keywords to the metadata so everything is already tagged & looks just like my main machine! Just need to grab some photos to load onto it and will be all set.

As for genius at work, I am never that on a good day and put me on a laptop and waaayyy not there. You give me way too much credit, I usually just bumble my way around until things look as I want them to or say, fine, be that way, you are done.

Eh... I used a padded Jansport, and made sure that any food/juice items were not with it and in a plastic bag. I only put the kids books with the laptop (and diapers)
