Default I'm Scared of 12x12!

My Ireland book is getting close to being finished. I am so happy with how it's turning out.
I'm going to have it printed, but I just don't know if I can make the leap to a 12x12 book. It seems so BIG!
But it was a big trip. It was a bigger trip than 8x8!

Can anybody convince me?

Personally no I can't. Big layouts are nice in their way, but I think of storage and accessibility. I'm actually going to order my first printed 8x8 one this week, and I did a Christmas book myself. If I want big, I can look on my 24" monitor!

I'm going to have my France book printed 12x12. It's big, but how often do you take a trip like that? I think it's worth 12x12.

Don't be afraid - You will love the 12 x 12. I like bigger that way you can see the details in the pictures that you would miss with a smaller size.

I would love 12 x 12 for some things, and it sure would be nicer to see the details. But just for my regular LO's I love the 8 x 8 because it is so easy to hold and leaf through. But special LO's like Linda's trip...I would have to go 12 x 12 to see the details.

I LOVE my Christmas 12x12! The photos show so beautifully! I will definitely be printing my 365 book large size. (I do like more than 20 pages in the larger size though.)

Once you go 12x12 you never go back!

All but one of our books are 12x12. The one 8x8 that I have leaves me feeling wanting. I am going to re-do it as a 12x12. We stack ours on our coffee table and love 'em!

btw earlofoxford, I saw some of your Paris pages while sifting through the gallery. Great work!!

Ditto! 8X8 albums are great when you only have one photo in each layout but if you've got the *multifoto* look going on...12 X 12 is the ONLY way to go!

Any books for us now are 12x12. You won't regret it. And regardless, you'll be so over the moon happy that you'll find a way to store it.

Storing a 12X12 digital scrapbook does take height but it is a LOT thinner (for the # of pages) than a traditional scrapbook!

Oh, go for the 12X12!! There is nothing as breath-taking as seeing a full-bleed picture take up a whole 12X12 page. (I did some aerial photography for my birthday two years ago and a few of the pictures are by themselves.) Definitely worth it!

I totally agree - once you go 12x12 you won't go back! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my 80 some odd page I did of Spencer pages. The details of both the elements & the photos are amazing. I think 8x8 make great gifts but the rest of my books will be 12x12 indeed. Just do it!

I agree-I have 1 8x8 and although I am totally enamored by the idea of a photobook, I will always order the 12x12 because Tatiana is right, I cant hardly see the details, I do need new glasses, but still...

personally I feel 8x8 is so small and when disappointed of the size when I printed a book in that size. I love the 12x12 - OK its a bit big, but I have to have high bookshelves too for other things so it fit straight in there I have also printed in 10x10 at Mypictales and that size is just perfect - but I still stick to 12x12

I feel your pain- and I haven't ever scrapped anything like a trip to Ireland! I print my lo's 8x8 at home. I have also done several books at Shutterfly that were 8 x 11 and they were very nice.

here is a link to some sales at shutterfly

Shutterfly’s Current Sales | Digital Scrapbooking Info

and have you looked into artscow.com?

I ordered prints and gifts from them last year at Christmas and was very pleased.

Mark, thanks so much for the compliment on my France pages. After viewing your fabulous book on Shutterfly, I almost hated to post my shots. Yours are out of this world!

You all are such enablers!!
Thanks for all the good advice.
I've uploaded two 12x12 pages to Shutterfly to be printed as single pages. One with a big photo and one with lots of little details...then I can rest easy about the quality before I spend my big bucks on a big book!

Confession - I've printed many of my 12x12's as 8x8's at home - then go back and print them in a Shutterfly book as 12x12's! Need to see the details!
