I have the Slingshot 100 from Lowepro They have 4 sizes to fit your equipment needs and are handy for on the go equipment changes/access as well as being very comfortable to carry. Available a fair bit cheaper at Amazon.com

OHHH bags ...bags .... bags.... love the discussion and the purchase of them. 2 x Crumplers are my latest acquisition from HK. Have the shootsac...love it Anna - It is gorgeous.

They all seem to have to their own special place in my heart.

Some people like shoes ...I like bags. But not the handbag (aka purse variety)

I have the 6 Million dollar crumpler bag. I love it (and yes I got this one because it was green inside.) That Shootsacs looks awfully cool though. . . hummm

Thanks Heather/Sam/Anna

Sam!!! I can't beleive you have three bags

I love the Shootsac - the covers are super cute, but I'm not sure I can justify the price.

This fella looks kind of cute...

Sarah, I took the lowepro 200 on our recent two week trip and it was great. I'm likely to get the bigger one (the 350 - which will hold all my lens and a computer).

Amazon.com: Lowepro SlingShot 350 AW (Black): Electronics

Tell us what you end up with and how you like it. Thanks.

Shootsac.. drool, cute... fun... know something on my Christmas list now.

As I was looking at them, a friend (my sewing buddy) sent me a link for DIY bags and we were looking at similar ones and talking of how we could modify them to work for carting my camera around instead of bringing my slingpro or spending the $$$ for a shootsac... you ladies are such enablers but I don't carry a purse (thinking I should again now though) so seeing these bags that are cute like this one & work for a camera is super cool - thanks!

I got a bag made from Wicked Stitch Designs, which I also use as a handbag. I got the big one though and it's a bit too big (for me), wish I'd gotten the middle size, oh well. I liked that I could pick my own colours too and it's made incredibly well.

Well, mine's not cool but it's solid and sturdy and I love it. It's a Tamrac Pro 8 and it fits a ton of stuff, has good pockets, zips shut (in addition to having a buckle you could use instead if you're working quickly & don't want to zip). So far it's served me well!

Just got an email today and it is Jessica Claire's 30 b day and for the next few days she has $30.00 off bags and 30% off covers. That is the best price I have seen for her bags in a very long time. Here is a link to the discount for the bag.

Carol... that is probably the best bag i have seen yet! I like the messenger style, and the fact it looks like a messenger bag and not a camera case. I think i need to spend some time over on that site to choose a pattern.

I have been tempted by all the darling shoulder bags out there, but I think I'm staying with the Lowepro Slingshot series. Not having the strongest upper body, I'm more comfortable with the weight distributed across my back. And you can open the bag without taking it off your back, very cool!

Just ordered the ShootSac without the decorative flap (o, my , I can do velcro). But I checked the web for neoprene fabric prices and decided they could do that part for me. This bag is not a replacement for the Lowepro but rather a bag for actual shooting when you want to change lens and have it all with you. Evidently my camera is my new grand person since I am spending all my money on equipping it with all it could possibly desire. I am afraid I must take a lesson from Kelly and NOT come back to this thread or even this forum!! The $30 off was an incentive but the shipping and handling pretty much ate that up. FYI. Amazon (Prime) is not in effect so ordering from her site with the birthday coupon is the best deal.
But I must say that while actual travel with the Lowepro was the best when I wanted to go out for the day I would carry my camera (as encouraged by Katrina - and noted by by husband - that I wore it like jewelry - definitely more pricey than any jewelry I would ever buy!!) BUT I would find that I wanted the lens and I was not willing to carry the backpac. So this is my new effort to USE the equipment I have invested my self in!!

ETA: Like.....does this sound like rationalization to you??

Hope more girls see this thread and give more "Fancy/Pretty Bag" threads, 'cause I've got "Crumpler's" 7 mill... returned it (too big), got 6 mill.... still don't like it... took with me just "Kipling" bag, it's too thin, but was better than anything I've got... may be I'll just get a "padded insert" that would work too... anybody knows of one...???

I love the bags from Wicked Stitch Designs-they are so beautiful-so what size did you decide upon? Say if I had 1 larger lens for telephoto-which I havent bought yet, the camera, and a little of whatever??

I knew I was in trouble the moment I saw this thread
I have a slingshot which is great for traveling, but when I am talking photos locally I find it quite big, and that sling strap in the middle of my anatomy is so unflattering. I still love it, but for everyday use I like something more feminine so, I usually, end up taking my camera and a couple of lenses in one of my normal bags, I know...risky in case it falls on the floor
I think in the near future I'm going to buy one of these: red bag

I have a of LowePro TLZ1 (this is the one I usually use when I carry only one DSLR), a couple of different Crumplers (for traveling with our without laptop or with two bodies), a Kata backpack (perfect for safaris and more "rough" travels) - and now I just ordered a Shootsac...;-)

Heather, can you post that link? I can be savvy on occasion with a sewing machine.
