Question shutterfly books

Hi everyone - quick question for those that print books often - do you stick with the 20 pages or do you make your books thicker - interested in what you think is the best number of pages for a book if it's just a collection of everyday LO's (ie Volume 1 of 2009) and not for a particular reason/event??

My last book was the family album and it was the maximum 100 or 101 pages or whatever it was. I printed it 12x12, all those pages, USD exchange rate, it cost a packet but was worth every single cent.

My smallest books have been 40 pages, my biggest was 100 or so pages (the max!). My 40 page books seem thin in comparison but not too thin. I don't think I'd bother with a 20 page book though, especially when you consider that the cost per page is not significant compared to the cost of binding and postage.

I have a 20 page plain photobook from another company, and frankly, it is way too thin. It doesnt seem worth it. I'm with Esther, for the cost of the covers, binding and freight, you may as well fill it up!

I think my thinist book was 35 or so pages ... pretty thin. I LOVE love LOVE my 12x12 book of pages of Spencer & it has about 86 pages. That is totally worth it! So my opinion is to have lots of pages, but I think it totally depends on what the book is about too. You could always add in some 'quote pages' for filler like I just did in my Eric & Kayleigh book.

I guess I'm in the minority here ordering slim books. Most of the 8 x 8 albums I've ordered have been between 24-30 pages. I kind of like the slim size. Sometimes, I stack a few of them on my coffee table for friends and family to browse.

I'm sure the thicker books are wonderful. I've just never been able to wait that long before ordering a book.

Mine, too have been between 20-25 pages, with the exception of the Heritage book, which was about 60 pages. My 8 x 8 books have all been vacation books, so the smaller number of pages seems to work well. I am working on a book about our beach trip this year, looks like it's going to be 30 pages or more.

When I'm throwing one together as a gift, I usually do the 20 pages (that's a lot of LOs to do in a short time, and it's usually with a coupon anyway). Merrilee, my Disney book was 60 pages, my biggest one. And it wasn't bigger simply because I got sick of looking at the pictures, and I wanted the book printed!

My 8X8s run in the 20-30 page range. The 365 will be my biggest so far at 51 pages.

I've just had a few done at Shutterfly and most have been in the 25-25 page range. I just had the first half of the 365 album done and it was about 55 pages.

I find 20 pages a little too thin. I like to have at least 40 pages.

My last album was 84 pages, and it turned out GREAT!!! But this year's will be the max of 100. There's just too much going on to not scrap it all!

I've generally done 8x8 with 20-30 pages but would LOVE to put together a 100 page book! I've heard they are just as great!

Because I have to ship internationally, most of my books are not at the mimimum (normally around 80 layouts, 40 pages). I like that size ... Like Merr, I couldn't wait for 100 pages!!!

If they would max out at like 104 pages, I could make my 365 book a single volume. Do you think it would be worth asking them?
