Default Colors on Mac

Okay, so I got my beautiful new Mac a couple of weeks ago and have been scrapbooking on it ever since. I love my layouts when I see them on the Mac but when I look at them on a PC (well, my PC laptop) the colors are just OFF.. in fact, I just don't like my layouts. Is there anything I can do to fix this or just something I have to deal with. I guess as long as I look at them on my Mac I'll be happy..... but it concerns me what everyone else is seeing.

Every monitor is callibrated differently. When I switched from my iMac to the Mac Pro w/Cinema display my layouts looked different. Have you printed any of the layouts? I would try that using a really reputible professional print company (WHCC offers 5 free 8x10 test prints). If the prints are WAY off from your monitor you might consider a callibration device. Your Mac has a built in utility for this purpose that might improve the issue a bit.

Hi again. Now that I'm back on my computer and not my iPhone, I can show you this screenshot.

This is what I get when I go to System Preferences > Displays. See the "Calibrate" button? Try that.

Also Brittany ! Look what color space you working in Photoshop I was working in Adobe RGB, but lately switched to sRGB IEC61966-2.1 you'll find it under Edit - Color settings - also when you save for Web and Devises it gives you option to preview how it's going to look on different screens and "Preview" button let's you preview the internet looking page and believe me after previewing I went several times back and adjusted the colors...
Here is example of two different savings I did: 1- http://www.designerdigitals.com/digi...5&ppuser=35854
2- http://www.designerdigitals.com/digi...6&ppuser=35854
The first one I did thru Web and Devises, second just resizing resolution to 72 and saving with my then Color working space Adobe RGB... totally washed out.
Also in the "View" - Proof setup you can find a slew of different options to preview your work for example for printing on your or other printers... hope that helps.

You definitely want sRGB for viewing online. There are plenty of well-argued debates as to whether or not you should use it for printing. A lot depends on how you print (at home, Costco, Walgreens, Professional service, etc.)
