Default Need help with Cassie's HTDT Mask Making

I am using PSE 7 on a pc. I am following the directions to create a mask with the eraser tool, but can't get it to work right. I select the eraser tool, then select the graphic pop corner brush and line it up where I want it to erase. When I click, according to the directions, it is supposed to erase in the shape of the brush. Instead, it stamps the brush in black.

I have followed the directions exactly several times, but don't know how to get this to work.

Any advice?

I've had problems with the eraser because I didn't have the right layer targeted in the palette. Make sure the thing you want to erase is the one highlighted, maybe that will work.

I have triple checked that I have the right layer selected. The only layer I have visible is the one I am working on, and the white background layer.

It seems like the brush isn't erasing, but stamping. I tried selecting the brush first, then the eraser, but changing the order didn't help either.

Any other ideas? I really want this to work.

Hi, Debi.

Send me an e-mail at the address at the end of the tutorial. I'd be happy to help you personally.

Thank you for the help!

Now that it is working, it is going to open up a lot of options.
