CS has ability to write and use more actions, text paths, warp tool, content aware scaling, photomerging, easier to use and edit later layer masks, more control over text alignment and formatting .. those are the first things that come to mind for me.

Sorry cant help you with this since I use PhotoImpact. But it sounds like buying a car..lol
You can have the car and it does all the things, drive, roll down the window by hand and turn on your AM/FM radio. But if you get the upgrade you will be able to drive with cruise control, roll your window with a little button and then you can turn your Sirius Radio on or you had hook your ipod player to your vehicle.

Sorry about that...I thought it was funny ...

Hehe, it is funny and pretty accurate. PSE is basically the basic Fred Flintstone car version where you do the work and it can hurt if you step on a rock as you are rolling along. If you want to put your feet up and have a smoother ride, you need CS

Ha ha, love the analogy Cheryl, and I agree with Heather that it describes the difference between PSE and CS perfectly!

There will be some differences but you have already learned a lot of the basics. Along the car analogy, if you learn to drive an automatic and then are given a stick shift, you already know the basics of driving so just need to get used to the new controls and once you do, you won't even have to think about it anymore.

I found it took a few days to make the switch comfortable, but, since then, I haven't looked back.

If I can learn it, anybody can. Now having said that, I am still driving without the stick (maybe?) because most of the stuff Heather is mentioning I don't even know yet. It really is a great program though, you'll love it! The text on a path and the layer mask alone are worth it for me

Don't be afraid 'cause you'll love the outcome... I had to kill two birds with one stone... when I switched from PSE on the Windows to Mac and CS4... Cassie have good tutorials on Scrapbooking, but if you want to learn more just Photoshop, check out "The Russel Brown" website and even U-tube have some pretty good short tutorials...

Download and try the 30 day trial. You'll get the hang of it.

I don't think I'll upgrade until I am eligible for the discount- 2 years until MJ starts Kindergarten :-D
