ok, just removed my earlier beta version (was on the User Group to do early evaluation of the Beta), downloaded, installed and registered the public Beta. All smooth as glass. It even picked up the keyword I entered on a few DD products in my testing. So if this is an indicator, this is gonna be great. Still, you're taking your own risks if you invest too much time in key wording in the beta and it doesn't transfer. I'm a risk taker.

Yes, I received the same email this morning. I downloaded, installed and opened it.
Now, will somebody please tell me what the purpose of this software is? Is it just to view my photos? I like new toys, but I also like to know why they are supposed to be so wonderful....

Ah, and I see that ACDSee will open iPhoto libraries, which could be a problem-- if you change something in your iPhoto library using an application other than iPhoto, you may just unleash an apocalypse of problems for yourself. I hope I am not overstating the potential seriousness of the problem.... it probably doesn't mean the end of the world, probably....
Well, bearing in mind Patricia's warning, and my warning, let's have some fun!

ok, MISSY!! This is a BETA, an early BETA. They have it set to very limited functions. In the final version you will be able to drag, keyword, search....all the magic everybody was used to on a PC. AND iPhoto is still working great to do all that. The final version of ACDSee for Mac will not be ready til the fall.
