Default How do you sort your chat goodies?

Forgive this newbie question but. .. how do you sort your chat goodies? Do you keep them all together under a file as in 4/24/09 and then by the time? Do you separate them all out and put them under the person? The reason I am asking is that I had my first group of stuff from 2/20/09 and then by the times, 1pm, 2pm etc (so that I could later go back and do all of the things I didn't have time to). But now that I have another chat 4/24/09 the time categories will repeat and it will mess up my shoebox hierarchy. Sorry if this is clear as mud. Anyway, just was curious how others file/tag these things.

I really enjoyed the chat and of course all of the fun goodies!

I'm sure there are many answers to this question, but here is mine!
Since I like to give credit to the designer when posting a layout, I have a folder inside each designer's folder that is called Freebies. I put the free items I received in this folder. I don't bother to keep track of the date that I received the file as I feel that listing "Freebie from Suzy Q" is sufficient credit. I'm interested to hear what others have to say about this!

I just put them in their proper folder (paper, brushes, etc.) under DD and make sure the name incl. freebie and date.

I used to keep mine under the date of the chat but have found that I tend to forget that I have them and they don't get used again. So now I put them in the folder with the designer and the folder has the name given it in the chat. That is how I sort everything - by designer within a larger folder labeled DD.

For me "Adobe Bridge" keeps everything intact, but I do make folders that contains only "Paper", "Brushes-Masks-Overlays", "Alpha" and also I found very important... I print my order pages BEFORE I go to "pay", 'cause it has ALL thumbnails of a product, so I can always refer back to what I have... hope that helps.

I just put them in the folder that the item belongs in eg, frames, brushes, paper etc. Most items have the designer and name of the item so you can always credit it if you use it. Also, most of the freebies come from items in the store, so I find the item and link it when i use it. After the chats, if I haven't done the challenge, chances are i'm not going to and I'll use the items for something else.

I make sure the designer's name is in the file name so I can give credit.
I combine bits together in one folder if I think they go well and rename the folder.
I find them later because I put them into ACDSee and tag them all. So when I click frames-wood at some time in the future that wooden box frame will pop up
Having said that, tagging in ACDSee does take a lot of time and probably requires a slightly obessive personality like mine!! But I can't stand hunting through folders to find things. I adore my tagged collection.

I name them like this KatiePertiet_NameofFreebie_## and tag them in ACDSee so I can pull up the type of item at a click

P.S. the ## is where each item in the set gets it's own number... so the preview is usually _00, the next item is _01, etc.

I just put them with my regular stuff, they have the designer's name, so it's all good!

Thanks for asking, I was wondering this too as I have a folder from the last chat day and never remember what's in it. That's a great suggestion, Lynn, I might use that.

Great question. I had all my freebies (challenges and chats) in a folder labeled freebie under DD. Then I bought something I already had. And I would forget what was in the freebie folder. So I've just moved them to the appropriate folder (paper, brush, frame, etc). I'm still trying to figure out my own system. Just bought ACDSeePro2 a month ago & haven't tagged a single item.
