Default Question about dodge & burn...

When I use my burn tool it never seems to burn evenly and on my laptop and the physical prints it is rather obvious. When I use my desktop, I can't see that it isn't burning evenly so I often think I did a great job til I pick up my prints! However, I am sooooo sure one of you knows how to most effectively use the burn tool in PSE or CS3 so please give me advice! Thanks soooooo much!!!!

Well! As it happens I was just working through one of the lessons in Jessica Sprague's self-paced photoediting class today. She was discussing calibrating monitors and said that laptops are notoriously hard to calibrate, which might or might not have something to do with your question. Also, to me, one of the biggest and best improvements in CS4 from CS3 is that what was once really a pretty lame tool now has some real muscle. You could try a trail download of CS4 and see if that makes a big difference for you.
