Default Am I nuts?

I just can't get enough of learning about Photoshop. What I'm working on now is nailing down paths and selections, both of which seem to involve a lot of vector work. So I thought, why not download Illustrator and learn to do it there since everyone tells you Illustrator is much better than PS for type. So that's what I'm doing. It's me and Deke McClelland on Lynda.com going over that Illustrator trial. Does anybody know if a) this effort is worth it or b) if I should be consigned to some kind of digital scrapbooking rehab center?

Have never played with Illustrator to know but I have had so much fun playing with all of Cassie's tutorials to learn things I never knew I was missing out on with PS and especially with how advanced PS can get with paths.

Her tutorial on the pen tool is so much fun! I had tried using other tutorials before to figure out how to use it but never got results which looked like what I was attempting to create. After following her instructions, I was shocked to see that not only did I get a result that matched what I was attempting to get but I also wasn't frustrated beyond belief as before.

So not much help on the Illustrator front but yes, totally share your love of learning... running out of Cassie tutorials to do.

LOL, you'll be in good company in the rehab center if all of us here who love to keep learning new techniques will be there.

I am still a PSE only user so I can't give you advice about Illustrator, but, I did want to reassure you I don't think you're nuts, just highly motivated and obviously way ahead of me in using sophisticated software!

As soon as I get a chance I'm going to do Cassie's tutorial. It sounds excellent.
