Ok, noticed that some of you are taking pictures, but say you haven't made pages. Take a look at this page from Teri A. Some people are doing this as extra pages in their books, but I think it would make a great book on it's own with the word art or a quote for each month. With very little effort you, too would have a 365 book for the year.

Kelly, you are so right those pages are easy to do and I think they would make a great book. I have January and February done now too. You can see them on my blog. Just click on the monthly mosaic tab.

Teri, I love that mosaic! I might go ahead and do pages like that for my mom or mother-in-law. It would be fun for them to have all the pictures without having the cumbersome books!

Teri, could I ask what dimensions you're using for the page, the pictures, and the gutter? I'm interested in trying to fit a month across two 8 1/2 X 11, but the math is really wonky.

Thanks!

Ummm, I used 2 in. squares, 7 columns and 4 or 5 rows depending on the month. I haven't figured out the math as I just used the wizard at big huge labs. I don't know what the dimensions are as I just made it to go on my blog.

I failed! I made it into February somewhere and just could not keep the "catching up" with myself going.

Nooooo !!! don't give up Hummie! Just edit the photographs down! I'm way behind at the moment but I plan that March is now just going to have a few photographs of important stuff and then I'll be better at taking shots in April . I think I lost the place with daily pics because I have seem to have a boring life LOL!! This project has certainly made me realise that I work late too much and there's only so many pics you can take of a messy desk! I'm considering therefore doing highlights of the week rather than a pic a day!

This is the point where we need to encourage each other not to give up...some of us just need to 'adapt' and change the original concept to something more achievable ? No such thing as failure

And to add to what Fiona said, remember that several of us cheat and use more than one pic from any given day. This doesn't have to be a 365 photo book for every person. It could be a weekly book or a monthly book with a pic for each day or each week or even each month if you are more into journaling. Don't give up. It will be so worth it down the road.

Hummie...don't give up.....Thats exactly why I'm calling mine a {not quite} 365. I do either 3 or 4 photos per week...I felt that was doable for me and I wouldn't get overwhelmed. I just really wanted to show a glimpse of my little life. My family is loving this idea and looking at the pages and asking....."what are you putting in this week...or why don't you use this idea for this week!" Everyone has their own interpretation of what this album should look like....so just make it your own!! Good Luck!

Oh don't give up, just keep on going as best you can. The end result is a visual picture of your year, it doesn't matter if it's every day or not.

Fiona, you live in Scotland, goodness that is far from boring for us over here! You know how my husband likes to see his homeland in your pages!!

And I agree, Teri's pages look fabulous mosaic'ed like that, what a great glimpse into the month.

Because of this post I have some renewed energy for continuing. While I kind of lost the momentum for taking a photo a day over Feb and March... I've decided to keep doing the layouts and replacing those days with either paper, or a messaging saying "missed photo" or perhaps a note on what was going on that day. Hopefully I'll complete my Feb layouts this weekend!

that is a cool idea christine! I have days with absolutely nothing going on and it would be great to just have a block with a sentence or something, or even a quote. Love that. I am happy to report that I am up-to-date! (at least as of now)

Christine, I have bumps every week---and I take pictures that are relevant to every day, but some weeks I take two or three on one day that are good for the whole week; everyday things that aren't necessarily "events." I use those to fill in the empty days---I'm not admitting to anyone what days I missed! And what Carol said is my vision, that I have a visual journal of each day for a year. That's what matters; my daughter playing with my son on Monday is just as important and poignant to me if I use it for my Tuesday picture. Who would ever know? Sometimes I don't even remember which pictures are "filler" when I do the pages, three days after I take the pictures!

Everyone should be encouraged to continue interpreting the project whatever way it works for them. I think we'll all be so thrilled and excited when our books/pages/albums are done, it won't matter if we "followed the rules!"

This is all excellent advice for anyone who is discourage because they think they "haven't kept up". There are no rules for your book except the ones you make for yourself. No photo days could certainly be filled in with other photos or journaling about the day or even quotes or song lyrics or even some pretty piece of paper you just absolutely love. These are our own personal 365 day books and should be relevant to our lives. Who wouldn't like to say in 2019 open the pages of a book made in 2009 and see what was important to us? And that said, isn't that the purpose of the 365, documenting the everyday?

As I sit here I am working on my 365 project layout for last week! I have missed only one day of taking a photo, but have cheated a bit and added one from another day. I have had so much fun and continue to improve my photography skills as well. It was totally difficult to post a photo of the day last week while I was with the kids, but I did take them. The day I missed this week was the day after I got home-totally wiped out! Elena your album is wonderful! Have to figure that how to do that. Anna's templates have given me enough versatility that I haven't been bored, yet. I'm doing mine by week number so the March-April thing isn't an issue. Have so enjoyed looking at everyone's!

I started uploading pages to Shutterfly last night! Not because I had time, just because I was filling up my time avoiding doing what I should have been doing! It is SOOO cool to see it come together!

Hang in there girls! This WILL BE cool in the end! I love my week in the life and daily december books. What a HUGE accomplishment this will be.

It is probably a great idea to get started on that now, so you won't have the overwhelming task at the end of the year. Plus it is encouraging to look at the pages together like that. cool beans Katrina!

Katrina, I have a question for you about your pages and Shutterfly. I am using the same templates of Anna's for some of my pages and I'm concerned about how close to the edge the photos are. Are you doing anything on your layouts for Shutterfly to ensure parts of photos don't get cut off? I've only done one other book, so I'm a little worried about issues of bleed, etc.

I've been concerned about that too Laura. I haven't done anything yet, but I'm thinking I may need to adjust my page size a little bit. I'll repost once I figure it out.
