Question Will someone please help me with stitching?

I have what is probably a dumb question, but i really don't know the best way to utilize shadowing when using stitching. Is all the stitching "ready to use"? Or does it look most realistic with a very slight drop shadow on it? For example, Anna's stitching looks ready to go as is. But then the various stitching type brushes from Katie--those seem like they might need a drop shadow of sorts. Can anyone point me to the best route to getting stitching to look the most real? THANKS!

A lot of the stitching looks pretty good as is but I tend to like a very slight drop shadow on it to bring out the details a little more.

For the stitching brushes, this tutorial by Cassie will give you a really good way of making stamped stitches look realistic and teach you some great tricks for working with stitching.

I'll second that! Cassie's tutorial is the best, it will change the way you look at stitching!

I'm with Heather on this — I tend to put a slight drop shadow on stitching (...even Anna's)
I pull the opacity back so it's not full on though. I do the same with Katie's and also sometimes add bevel and emboss and some texture too. I haven't had a look at Cassie's tutorial, but I know they are the best for information — so I'm off to investigate...

(i have so much stuff i often forget what i have I guess what i need to do is do some experimenting...looks like it is a good bit of personal style as well...i never even thought about beveling and texture, too! Thanks!

That tutorial is great, I love the whole bending the stitching tails the best. So realistic.
