Default Any tips on making a booK?

I been thinking that I would like to make a book for my dh to give him on our 30th anniversary this August. (He must have robbed the cradle ) Is it too ambitious to try to cover our whole married life? I'd love any tips that you might have. Thanks so much!!

I did a thirty page book for my Grandparents 50th wedding anniversary and I started it with their first picture dating and ended it with a recent photo I had of them.

I grouped events and special moments together... I of course couldn't cover everything but I got a great snapshot of the progression of their lives together.

I think if you broke it up into different sections and periods of time you could make it cover the span of 30 years without being HUGE

I want to do a book for my dad's 70th in May. It's a daunting task trying to cover 70 years! Like Jen, I think I'm going to break it down into groups - e.g. childhood, single life, newly wed, young father, not-so-young father , grandfather. You could try breaking it into sections like that.

Did you use the same papers and colors through out the whole book?

On the anniversary book I did not. I wanted to match the photos and spanning 50 years I had to change it up.

I think you could do it both ways... but I had more fun making my pages all unique and different =)

When I paper scrapped a tribute album to my mother I broke it up into sections (childhood, school years, young mother, etc.) For each section I used the same paper scheme but I changed the paper schemes for each section. That way I had some variety but also some continuity. I also used some embellishments the same all the way through.

The best advise I could give is don't worry if a 'section' or 'time period' or 'event' is missing! I did a book for my mum's 60th and I just had to go with what photos I could put my hands - not worry too much about a page a year or every holiday kwim?

If I were to do it again, I would probably use a couple of Katie's template books, rather than totally different pages - I like a more cohesive book, but I think that is a personal preference.

Looking forward to seeing these pages in your gallery.
