the Challenges?

Sorry to have so many questions today!

I'd like to try a challenge but I can't seem to find the rules.

Are challenge pages only to have DD products?

Can you earn points towards GCs?

Could someone give me a brief over view of how it all works here at DD. (Or a link.)

Every weekend, there are three challenges (journaling, color, and everyday inspiration) posted in the Challenges Gallery. There are no real rules to those challenges other than to use the product in the freebie and then to post your page in the appropriate gallery for that challenge.

Any other contests on the site will have threads in the Contests & Events section in the Forum that explain the details in full. Currently, there is a Guest CT contest going on, and we just completed the entry period for the Capture the Love contest and we are in the voting stage of that contest.

In addition, there are regular entries to the blog that provide inspiration and challenges. The rules for those are described on the blog. There are no prizes, just a chance to be motivated and inspired to create great pages.

Sometimes, during a chat, the hostess will offer a prize for a layout, selected either by the hostess or randomly.

Once a month, the site owners select a scrapper to be the Featured Artist of the Month, and that person wins a $20 gift certificate to the store and a place on the home page.

In addition, there is a Layout of the Week selected by Katie and announced in the Toot Toot section of the forum. This layout wins the designer a $5 gift certificate.

Finally, team member Deena hosts the Simply Inspired challenge every other week. She posts on the blog and in the Contests & Events Forum. The winner of this contest gets a $10 gift certificate.

All of these contests are subject to change at any time.

There are no points earned toward gift certificates on the site.

I've been wondering how long the challenges run. I mean, I downloaded some of the freebie products a long time ago, and now I don't know what to do if I use them (so I don't...). Shall I post the pages in the challenge galleries regardless of how old the freebies are, or shall I post them in the "general" gallery.
(eeeh..., was that question at all understandable? )

Actually, posts in the weekly challenge galleries (journaling, color and everday inspiration) are also seen in the general gallery, so you don't have to worry about that choice. The weekly freebie challenges don't have a prize associated with them, so you may post them whenever you complete the challenge. They are a "just for fun" challenge.

For contests or prize challenges, there will be a definitive established deadline and often a separate gallery dedicated to those LOs.

Any page you post in a specific gallery will always show up in the main gallery, too. You can post pages to the challenges anytime you want. Just select the name of the gallery from the drop down menu for "category" when you are uploding the page.
