OK, I have this added to my acct. But have a couple of questions.
I have until Mar 2 to order both books, right?
Also, it says 20 page. Is it a 20 layouts for a 10 page front & back book? Or do I need to do more layouts?
(I've obviously never ordered from shutterfly before)

You have until March 2nd to order. Both books have to be ordered at the same time. It's for 20 layouts on a 10page book front and back. Additional pages are charged at like $1.50 or something and would be a single side of paper. HTH!

Thank you so much for the coupon, Katie.

I've used Shutterfly before and I know they automatically use coupons that apply during checkout. I have the coupon in my list of offers but when I tried to order my 2 8x8 photobooks it's charging me full price. Has anyone else managed to purchase their books with the coupon?

are you sure you used the digital scrapbook format that you are brought to from our site? The offer does not work on standard photobooks, only digitally scrapped ones. HTH!

Hi Gillian

Yes, it just happened to me last week! I contacted Shutterfly and their customer service was excellent. They explained it was because I had created 8x8 photo books, not 8x8 digital scrap books and that was why the coupon wasn't being added at checkout. Fortunately they gave me the second 8x8 photo book for free - how great is that?! So it's definitely worth contacting them and explain what's happened. Next time though I'll create a digital scrap book and save myself extra work .

have any random layouts you have done but not printed or put in an album? I did my other books just as random layout books and then all you have to put together in time is the cover.

Thank you for your help. It was my mistake...they were just regular photobooks.
I contacted Shutterfly and they gave me a credit anyway. I've always liked that place but that really cemented it.

When they have their regular promotions (not DD-related, sometimes they send out private emails for BOGO), print your own scrapbooks are not included. They are considered "premium" (Martha Stewart, Print Your Own, Thomas the Train) books. Nowhere on their website could I find that Print Your Own was considered premium, but they said so when I called and asked.

However, the only difference between the "Print Your Own" and the regular books, I believe, is the cover. If you use their pre-made template for your cover, and choose the one-picture layout, you can still use your own scrapbook pages. I need to remember to do this next time I get a non-DD advertised sale.

It takes a little figuring out! I was so frustrated with my December Daily book from the other company I was determined to get this one done so I could have a good copy!

Bailey, I'm jealous---you didn't have 20 pages you hadn't printed? I haven't printed a page in a year and a half!!! So I had lots to choose from.

Im a bit of an addict when it comes to printing. And FYI, you can build a regular "photo book" with your own full bleed cover and full bleed pages if you ever get another promo like that. You just have to start it that way from the getgo.

Bailey, the last time I got one of those BOGO emails, I started with "Print Your Digital Scrapbook," and I got to the end and it kept charging me full price. I called and finally got someone who said that Print Your Digital Scrapbook isn't a premium book, and they don't count in those promotions. But I had three people tell me three different things!! Did you ever have trouble with it, and if you did, how did you resolve the problem? That time when I called, they did credit me and let me use the coupon, but said in the future, I couldn't do my own book.

Do you mean if I go through DD's Print Services to start my book, then I can always use those promotions?

I think the left hand sometimes doesn't know what the right hand is doing!

Thanks for the tips and advice. I'll try that next time and see what happens . . .

What I have found with Shutterfly is to read your promotion very closely so you know how to start putting your book together - end result looks the same regardless of their option you choose, just matters how you do it for the coupons/offers to work.

If it says "photobook" - go to Shop By -> Products -> Photobooks and then choose the full bleed page option and apply to all pages then drop in your pages like you normally do

If it says "digital scrapbook" - go to Shop By -> Solutions -> Digital Scrapbookers and then drop in your pages like you normally do because the full bleed page option is the default going this route

I just ordered 2 digital scrapbooks and 1 photobook and can't tell the difference between them at all. Same product, just build using different options in their interface.

PS. You can get to any of these options by using the link on Designer Digitals so I always go to Shutterfly that way... support the DD Shutterfly site so they know how awesome it is and keeps giving DD great offers and freebies for the quarterly sales chats.

Great! Thank you, Katie, Bailey, and Heather! I have been reading the promotions very closely but didn't know the "trick" . . . I will always start through the DD link from now on! (I have the past several times anyway, but I'll make sure to be consistent. For a while I had forgotten that link was there . . . I know it's because I'm getting old.)

Hope everyone enjoys their books! I can't wait for mine to come in.

Cross-referencing another recent discussion, I really noticed a HUGE difference on my screen with my pages after I checked the "do not apply vivid pics correction" option (don't remember the exact wording). Katie's Naturally Krafty paper looked yellow on my screen until I clicked that option, after which it turned the beautiful shade of tan/khaki that it's supposed to be.

Thanks again!

Sarah
