Default Reworking an old layout

I loved the photo in this layout here, but decided it would work well with some of the newer stuff in the store too:

So here is the updated version:

I was wondering if anyone has done anything similar recently and updated an old layout with some of the new DD goodies? Or if I've inspired anyone to give it a go. Either way I'd love to see the 'before' and 'after' versions!

If I love a photo enough, I sometimes scrap it twice. I have used a page design more the once.

I've remade a couple of pages lately too Sarah. One of them because of some glaring mistakes, and the other to switch from 8.5 x 11 to 12 x 12. I have lots more that I just plain don't like and want to redo them too.

I love the way that you have updated this precious baby photo. (I like the old version too!) The photograph is adorable!!!!!

Funny you should mention this Sarah. I just reworked a layout I did years ago. I found this inspirational paper layout by Maureen "Mozer". I did my own version but was never really happy with it. Last night I did a new version because of a special occasion for my niece. Optimism

Sarah, that photo is fabulous and the new page design is AMAZING! The old one is quite nice, but the new one is really eyecatching & well-balanced. Love it!

I DO feel inspired to rework a few old ones...I'll see if I can make it happen!

Funny you should bring this subject up. I've been doing that with a lot of my 1st pages. Most of them, I just redo, but I haven't been uploading them. The last one, however, I did decide to upload just a few days ago.

Here's the before: (it blows my mind that I thought this was good! )

And here's the after:

Sarah, what a good idea to start a thread like this!!

I have used a favorite photo over again and I have lots of my earliest layouts I'd love to rework. You're giving me ideas and when I get a chance I'll show you what I do!

Katina, I am the same way when I look back at some layouts, I laugh to myself that I thought they were good...lol

I love looking at all your re-do's, but don't think the originals are that bad!
Sometimes our tastes change - mine does daily! I think it's a good to redo favorites.

I never do go back and redo layouts because I have sooo many photos that haven't been scrapped at all. That being said, I LOVE what you did here!! Your first layout was wonderful, but the reworked on is AMAZING!! Love it!

All these re-works are amazing! I love them all. When I was a paper scrapper, I used to re-do LOs all the time. It drove DH crazy. I had to rebuild my EHD last month, and I thought I backed up all my current scrapbook pages, but the backup recovery failed, so I lost everything from 2008. So I get a chance to re-do all my pages from last year! It's been fun finding excuses to buy new DD product.

Thanks for sharing, girls.
Chris - I love the mask and colour on the new version and Katina, the kraft background works so well.

Gorgeous photos too - I can see why you wanted to re-work them. My earliest earliest pages are not in the DD gallery (way too ugly), so I am looking forward to revisiting some of those too. Not that I'm caught up with recent photos though!!!!

I just reworked this layout so that I was using all DD products in order to upload for a contest. So it isn't an old layout.... well, actually all my layouts are new b/c I just recently started scrapbooking digitally!

Here is the first one:

And here is the one I redid with all DD products.... which one do you like better???
