Question Friendly Permission

Before posting a layout of a friend, friends child, or any family members do you ask their permission first? It only seem the right thing to do correct?

my family all know that I take their photos and scrapbook and chances are they could appear in the gallery here at DD or maybe in a magazine...it is completely understood.

however, I wouldn't include photos of non-relative people without first obtaining their permission.

I don't tend to ask my family, but for friends, especially their children, I would ask first. Just in case anyone has issues I wasn't aware of.

Perfect...thanks! I know I can post for my sisters kids, but for the otherside of the family and friends I just wanted to do the right thing. I would die if someone had my "mug" on the internet for all the world to see without me knowing....ha ha.

Honestly, I don't ask....I just blur out their face and make sure there is no identifying information.

Me, too... looks kinda funny when it's posted, but I'm covered! Just in case...

I checked about the grandkids a long time ago, so don't ask each time.

I ask for my nieces & nephews under the legal age on my DH's side. For one family it's no problem, for the other I would have to blur. But I just assumed that my side knew there is a chance - but after reading I should probably check with them.

For my family, it's OK. They don't mind, as long as there is no identifying info (address, last names, etc.) However, for other kids, I make sure I have a photo release (if it's from a photo session, I'll already have it) or an email OK from the parent. Just better to be covered! The blurred faces do look really creepy to me, though, so I try not to do that! I mean, obviously it's not blurred on MY lo at home...but somehow, seeing blurry faces on someone else's LO on the web throws me every time! (Although at the same time I totally respect it!) And of course I still love seeing the overall LO and getting inspiration from it, blur or not.

Thanks all for your responses....just assures me that I was tending to do the appropriate thing by asking permission first!
