I'm in the process of upgrading to a new computer. thinking of getting 6MB of memory, which means the 64-bit processor and Vista.
dh and i have looked, but it is unclear whether PSE 5.0 is compatible with Vista 64. Does anyone here have Vista 64 with PSE 5.0? How has it worked for you?

I really hate to give you the news but Vista is probably one of Microsofts worst product release. I do know for a fact that you "can get" PSE 5.0 to work with VISTA, however it will require some patience. There is a patch that you will need from either Microsoft or Adobe. Do you have an XP machine or have you/are you upgrading to Vista? Vista requires two things: 1. EXTRA ram memory right from the start because the operating system requires more than the old versions (xp, win2000, 98 etc) 2. Software Version Upgrades of some sort (patches, new versions to be purchased) since Microsoft rewrote so much of the code. Here is the VISTA compatibility link so you can check any other software http://www.windowsvistaplace.com/ Hope this helps. BTW I have been a software engineer for over 20 years. Brenda |

I have Vista Home Premium and I use PSE 5 and I've never had to do anything special. It's worked just fine from the moment I installed it.
