Bump!

I contracted a vicious malware virus early last week and my whole system crashed. I was prepared; I had everything backed up and my build configuration on a CD. So it only took a couple of hours to reformat my drive and load everything back on.

HOWEVER, I had forgotten to copy my fonts folder (which I usually do every couple of months)!!! So I have to rebuild my fonts library.

Needless to say, I wonder if this is just a good idea to do once a year or so. I downloaded about 2,000 fonts from various sites and am pulling them up in AMP Font Viewer, and deleting the ones I don't like. I culled it down to 400 fonts so far.

This list is very helpful! Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm going through all the font threads and finding lists and will check all these out.

I'm so glad you bumped this thread Sarah but so sorry you had a hardware crash!

In addition to the ones added
Milk and Cereal (saw this on one of Katie's los a long time ago)
Luna (I think I saw Kayleigh use this first)
Wonderful Wendy (borrowed from Phylis)
Pea Elizabeth
Wendy
Interstate (which I adore but also lost in a computer crash and haven't been able to find it for free!)

Thanks for reviving this thread!
I do adore fonts!

Liorah BT is a fav of mine, along with a lot that were mentioned before.

I am going to need to get new fonts once my iMac arrives... funny how we forget to back those up, huh?

I think most of my favorites have been mentioned.

One I adore is CK MamaO.

A friend of mine saw this font on another friends scrapbook page and decided she neeeeeeeeded it. She asked about it but no one was carrying it anymore. She eventually found the person that made it and contacted her about buying it and she said she would be more than happy to give it to her along with a couple others and that she was welcome to pass them out to a few people. I adore it and I thought that was super generous! I use it on everything that I don't use Traveling Typewriter on, lol

Many of my favourites have already been mentioned but here are a few more of ones I could not live without:

Dali
Stamp Act
Scratch LET

Also quite a few of the CK fonts such as CK Journalling, CK Maternal etc.

I also love Century Gothic.

Century Gothic
American Typewriter
Type-Ra

Flux Architect
Printing Primer Abundant

for Heritage pages:
Hannibal Lecter
1871 Dreamer Script
Jane Austen

I signed up for the monthly newsletter at My Fonts. It's fun to see what is new, what is popular and sometimes they feature scrapbook fonts. I have purchased fonts from them like 1871 Dreamer which I love for heritage pages.

A new favorite of mine is Problem Secretary; it's a typewriter font that comes in a crooked version and a straight version.

If you've installed them in your Windows Fonts folder, then when you use your text tool in Adobe, you will see all your system fonts in the font drop-down box along the toolbar at the top.

If you're using a PC, it's C:Windows\Fonts. It's the Fonts folder that is on your Windows operating system. It wouldn't be one you created; it you put them in a special folder, Photoshop won't see them. Go ahead and copy them and paste them to your system fonts folder. It may be different if you have Vista; I have XP.

HTH!
