Default Firefox/Mac users ??question??

I was reading the thread about browsing the gallery and opening with a new tab option. I know how to set the preferences to always open in a new tab and I know how to open a new tab (CMD T) with the keyboard.

But is there a way to tell Firefox that I want to open just this next window in a new tab??

You know, like hold down the option key or something??
Thanks. I looked on the Firefox site for a while but thought somebody here MUST know.

I don't use firefox but I was playing around with it this morning. For me, it works to hit ctrl + link, then click "open link in new tab". HTH.

Patricia, just go to Firefox > Preferences and click on tabs. Set your preferences there.

That being said, sometimes you still need to hold the Apple/Command key when you click to create a new tab. That's because . . . according to Firefox:

"Note: If you have chosen to open pages in new tabs, Firefox will ignore this optionpreference and will open a new window from a link if the page author specified that the new window should have a specific size, because some pages can only be displayed correctly at a specific size."

That's why it works sometimes and not others. I just have a habit of always holding the Cmd key when I click (Firefox AND Safari) to create a new tab.
