Default ACDSee for MAC is REAL!!!

I am so excited. JUST got the email that said I could tell ya'll that ACDSee for MAC if actually really happening. I am on their focus group and had to sign an agreement not to spill the beans on anything....but they said i COULD tell ya'll it is real (and they are just trying to make sure it works right before the put it out, ie, the focus group).

ANYWAY thought you all might want to know. BE sure I will tell you anything I CAN as soon as I can.

However, in the mean time... I have been seriously working with the ideas that Lynn gave me on another thread...about organizing in Bridge (sorry we sidetracked you thread, Tracy). Lynn advocates iPhoto to organize digi supplies. Since I had heard a lot of negative about iPhoto (mostly from people who did not realize that you can use it without copying your images, that you can create multiple libraries, that you can use keywords or search by file names) I didn't go there. But, you know, Lynn is a very smart woman (even if she looks like she is only 30!!LOL) so I decided to give it a try. And I LOVE IT.
My tool of choice until the ACDSee option is ready. It is fast and easy. Takes some playtime to get it but worth it.

In case any of you are wondering, I have been on a sort of vacation here in Maine for a week...but without high speed internet. So I can write a lot and it has been really fun to hang put with ya'll. BYE.

I'm glad you posted -- I downloaded the Picassa trial last week and I'm not happy with it. It can't even complete the updates on my computer. I'm going to uninstall it. So far the only thing I'm happy with for organizing my supplies is Finder!

I'll be on the lookout for this!!

Same here with the picassa trial. My sil uses it (he is a unix platform guy) and I am not so impressed. First of all, it doesn't seem to recognize RAW files, so my thoughts of using it for digi and pics is out the window....

Yeah Patricia for being in the focus group!! I am still trudging along with Shoebox.

In the meantime, I posted a thread about everything I have figured out about iPhoto HERE.

I could be lured away, but it would take some doing....
