Default Shutterfly Printing Question

I have PSE7 and am designing my LO's as 12X12's. I know I can print at home in 8X8 or 12X12. What about shutterfly...can I still design in 12X12, but have them print in 8X8? Would I have to flatten, save as a jpeg and then open a new 8X8 document and put the saved file there??? Am I making sense??? Thanks so much.

Pam

I always design 12x12, but when I am working for a shutterfly book (like my december daily) - I merged layers - and resized the layout to 7.75x7.75 and saved it as a jpeg and put it into a shutterfly folder..then when I am ready, I just upload them to an album at shutterfly.

hope that helps

I also design at 12x12 and save as 300dpi jpegs. I don't resize for 8x8, but just make sure I don't have anything close to the edge.

Exactly what the other ladies said...

I design 12X12, flatten, save as high resolution jpeg then upload to Shutterfly. You can print as 8X8 or 12X12 either way. I've done both with the same image uploaded to Shutterfly. And as Katrina said, keep anything critical away from the edges.

I am a "to the edge" scrapper - so that is why I resize so nothing gets cut off : )
