Default Another scrapbook magazine goes under

Simple Scrapbooks...I didn't subscribe to this, and I don't know how much digi stuff they had, but it just makes me sad! Here's the link to their blog post:

Well, shoot! 2 of the 3 magazines I subscribe to are now defunct! I just got my FEB issue of CK and it had maybe 5 digi layouts! Seriously not cool!

OMG - I'd read that they were going to offer subscribers of "Digital Scrapbooking" the rest of their subscriptions in other CK magazines, and that's the one I was going to choose. Grr. Might just choose a refund when the time comes.

This makes me so sad - Simple was one of my favorite mags, even if they didn't have a lot of digi. I love their philosophy.

oh no! I am so sad - the group of girls involved with that magazine are top notch...this economy sucks...I can imagine that when you have to make a choice about buying groceries or magazines, well easy answer...

my brother works for a paper mill, one of their partnership mills produces glossy paper - mostly to magazines and similar publications, their sales are down 50% : ) and are planning huge layoffs.

Wow...that is so sad to hear. It's just so hard to believe how fast things are going down. My heart goes out to all the families of these companies who are affected.

Whoa...this caught me off guard. I've been a bit out of the loop the past week or so and this is the first I've heard of this. I have been a SS subscriber for ages. How sad to see it go.

I liked the simple approach of this magazine, too. I bought it at the book store every time I came across it.

And, as much as I am online, I still really love a well done, glossy magazine I can hold in my hand. This is really bad news!

geesh!! Bad enough that DSM went under after I paid for 2 years, but I just gave 3 subscriptions of simple for Christmas gifts. Sigh. (And my own subscription besides.) I didn't have a subscription to CK, because out of all of them, I like it the least. Feel bad for all the employees worst of all. Times are hard.

Well, it is sad to see another scrapbook magazine gone. I hope this will make Creating Keepsakes a thicker magazine with lots to offer. It would be nice if they could incorporate
more digi.

I just said the same thing to my hubby. I feel bad for all the loss of jobs, not just for the magazine but as Mary said the printing companies as well.

Total sadness in my house tonight after hearing the news... but, according to Angie Lucas (on the Simple Blog), SS will be incorporated into CK and CK will be getting a bit "larger". So, that's a plus... at least in my book!

That's a little bit of good news, Debi. I so liked their philosophy. I've been a subscriber since they debuted.

That is sad, I couldn't get it very often over here, but loved it when I did. I liked their philosophy of simple, clean LOs.
