Default The indirect benefit of Project 365

I was reading all the lovely comments you left on my latest Project 365 page, and one of them really jumped out at me. Joey (babyroo7) said it was fun to be able to have a glimps into my life. And she could not be more right.

With so many people taking part, it's like our little DD family here is becoming closer by being able to see what we all do from day to day, however plain or exciting. We are all so different but share one common passion, and this project opens with window to both worlds! Keep up the good work girls!

Christine, you are so right! My husband can't understand why I stay up late to read the LOs in the gallery. I shared with him that we DD gals do more than just scrap! I told him about the ladies that I am praying for and the struggles that I know about with some of the gals. I think he was really surprised! Now he is asking about you ladies to see how things are going! I am VERY thankful for you all!

My only sibling is a brother, so I never had a sister growing up. I do now, though. You are all my sisters.

I totally agree, I'm loving seeing the LOs and the photos themselves on the Flickr group. It's great to see snow in one photo, bright sun in the next.

It's amazing what can seem exotic when it's completely everyday to someone else.

Just hoping I keep up all year, 2 weeks down, only 50 to go.

The 365 Project gallery is the first place I stop into to see what new pages have been uploaded.

OH and I so agree with kikimama, what is the norm for one is foreign to another.

It is great reading about what everyone is doing and as I think about my day I think that I need to do something useful each day so that I can include it in my book. I find it very motivating to think that people will be reading about my daily life.

Linda, I lost my only sister and I also have found all of you to be a blessing in my life.

Thanks to all of you who share so much of your lives and the way you all reach out to each other.

LOL at donitab's comment "somedays I kinda' feel like a stalker!" It's stalking in a good way, this getting to share the lives of all you DD girls

It's also about being inspired & challenged and about feeling gratitude for the everyday "stuff of life." Carry on!

I've forgotten to take a picture for the last few days now and it's really discouraged me.

We've all been poorly over the past 3 weeks, the weather is rubbish so we haven't really been anywhere exciting, so the only pictures I've been taking have been at home. I haven't got any good shots at all so far this year, not just for 365 but AT ALL

Kirsty - don't be discouraged, just jump in right where you are. You could journal about how the weather has been bad and what's going on.

On days when I don't have anything exciting to take a photo of, I take a photo of something very ordinary and everyday around the house. I try to learn something new about my camera and at the same time I think it will be fun for my grandkids someday to look back at all the old "antiques" that were so commonplace to me!

I think part of the beauty of the 365 project is that your photos, your pages, your journaling don't have to be perfect. They just have to be your view of what happened that day in your life. So you can just journal and do no photo, you can use a photo and not journal. And if the only photo you have is slightly blurry and out of focus, then that's ok too. To me, this is a learning experience. It is a chance for me to learn to take better photos, to write better stories, to learn more about me. And thanks to this wonderful site and Katie and Randy's brilliant efforts it is a chance for all of us to share our lives and learn more about each other and to encourage each other to go all the way through to the end of the 365 days in 2009.

I agree totally that at the end of the day this project is for us and our family. That takes some pressure off me to be trying new types of photos everyday, or to find something exciting to photograph.

I've also made myself a list of a few things I can take a photo of if I have no inspiration one day - my handbag/ ornaments/ the fridge etc. Haven't had to use any yet, but they're there when I need them.

I wish I could get myself to do it, because I think it's an awesome project. You guys are going to have a beautiful book and an awesome memory of 2009. I might do one week a month. I think I can handle that. Love seeing your pages.

Kirsty, my last week only had 6 photographs. That's how I'm tackling it. I'll certainly be doing a page about my week, but whether there be 1 photograph or 10, regardless I'll be journalling about the week just gone.

I only took pictures occasionally, but with this project my camera is in my purse at all times. My life is not exciting and my camera is not great, but it's making me really observe my surroundings. There are just little things that I note and I hope to have a visual "journal" of my year. Yes, today's picture is blurry but I'm using it anyway.
