Hi Terry, there are probably many more experienced people than me who can reply, however I found http://www.designerdigitals.com/ddmsb/showthread.php?t=9713&highlight=vivid+pics helpful.
To recap: 1. After uploading all jpgs to a new Shutterfly album, be sure to select all images then choose Edit > Apply Effect 2. On the right you'll see an option that says "Don't apply automatic corrections to picture". You'll want to check that box. 3. Then click on "Apply this effect to selected pictures" 4. Then on the left side of the screen you need to click on the Crop option and then Custom Crop. Do this for every page (you can use the arrows to the right to move through your album). 5. Follow the links to add the photos to a photobook. I change the layout for each page to a single full-page image and drag my page from the project bin up to the album layout. As for cover designs, I'm still new at digital scrapbooking so I invested in one of Katie's create-a-book completer packs which gives you front & back covers, plus two other page layouts. They're all Shutterfly ready so take out the hassle of doing it yourself. HTH!! Good luck. I've so enjoyed your Christmas pages and can't wait to see the finished album. Lyndell |

Does everyone else click on the custom crop option for each LO? I have always selected a group of photos, turned off vivid pics, clicked on the "Apply this effect to selected pictures" and then when I go to Crop I click on "Custom Crop" once, but I don't scroll through all of my LO's. I have never seen a problem with my LO's in the books, but I was just wondering if this is a step that I should be doing or if clicking it once is enough.

I always have had to change the crop borders on the Shutterfly books. I use the template from Shutterfly for the cover, spine, and back unless I'm using a template that already has the correct dimensions.

it's always been my hope that Shutterfly cuts out all the confusion and really simplifies the process AND their website. no turning off vivid pics. no worrying about the edges of your pages being lopped off. my brain just doesn't work like the Shutterfly process works, which is a shame, because they seem to offer a lot of nice products.

You can do both - Shutterfly does help you put photos on a very simple layout that is varied on each page a little. If you are in a hurry, having Shutterfly do it for you is convenient. But I like to use my own pages because I can use my own papers and elements.

I wonder why every single one of my LOs in Shutterfly are cropped wrong then? I have to adjust every page which is not too annoying but would love it if it were only the odd page. My original psd files are resized to 7.95x7.95 (for an 8x8 book) and then I just save a JPG from that. Is that different to what you (Sarah & Carol) do?

In playing with it, I think what happens is when you select a picture to edit the Vivid pics option, the crop is changed. If you select a group of pictures, only the crop on the first one is changed (which is why I can choose it once and everything is fine with the rest of the pictures). So, if you are one of those who uploads and updates all pages at one time, you probably only see this problem on occasion. If you're like me...you upload each page as you get it done and you need to fix the crop on each one.
