I went from an XP to Vista. When I first got the Vista computer, all was well with loading fonts (dragging fonts into the computer's font folder), but then all of the sudden a font would no longer load. After weeks of frustration I finally found out that with Vista (or maybe it's windows in general), once you have 300ish fonts you can no longer add fonts with the drag on drop method. Now I install a font by right clicking on the ttf (font file) file and hit install. It's all done for me! Perhaps you all already knew this, but I didn't until I researched it! Good luck!
Oh, I also keep all my new fonts in a font folder and keep it with my scrapping stuff. This way my fonts get backed up regularly and it makes for an easier transfer to a new computer. HTH!
