Default Do you have scrapping resolutions?

I have a few:
1. Take a photo a day - and make an album with them.
2. Make a lo using an extraction technique
3. Shoot more in the manual mode
4. Push myself to learn some new PS techniques!

What are yours?

My goal in scrapping is to really put together a whole book and have it printed at Shutterfly. Most of my layouts are really one-shot-deals. I would like to try to follow through on a whole set of coordinated layouts that would make a nice book.

I commit to taking a photo a day and putting it on a template per week.
I also would like to go through all those tutorials of Cassie's that I have accumulated.
I have to learn more about photography and figure out my new camera (once I get it)

I did add a section for scrapbooking to my mission statement this year...
It includes the 365 project...weekly journaling...and compile and print the first of my remember books. I also want to complete & print 6 more books for my kids school/learning purposes using all these amazing digital supplies....
I plan to help my children complete their school albums this year - they are so excited and have already become record keepers of their own school memories this fall.
And I plan to complete 2 heritage albums - 1 for mine and one for my husbands side of the family.
I want to learn more about lightrooms capabilities and I want to get off auto this year.....

I have a few...
* Upgrade to CS4 (I have CS2 right now)
* Learn how to use my Bamboo Fun Tablet
* Finish Cabo San Lucas book
* Work on Europe 1985 book
* Scan Eric's childhood pics
* Tag papers and elements in ACDSee right after I upload so I don't get behind
* Make a Christmas 2008 album
* Back up EHD monthly

Oh, yeah...to learn how to use my digital SLR...I carry a Sony Cybershot wherever I go. And, to learn how to use that SLR on MANUAL! I'm doing two books...one for each grandchild which I have to finish by the middle of March for their birthdays. Yikes! So, finish them. And, to become a better at this.

Happy New Year...Susie

I want to scrap my holiday photos from England when I went in 2000, so that will be on the agenda.

Oh and my other resolution is to ignore the blank stares my husband gives me with the added sighs "are you on the computer AGAIN?!?!?!?"

Sara, I love the idea of a mission statement. It sounds more like a work in process instead of resolutions which always give me the feeling that once I've broken them it's over!

Things that I would like to accomplish this year...
- learn lightroom
- learn how to use my camera better (off auto!)
- catch up our family scrapbooks (I have a gap between Christmas 2003 when I was paper scrapping and sometime in the middle of 2006 when I started digiscrapping!)
- keep relatively up-to-date with scrapping current events (oh, the woes of chronological scrapping!)

Mine are:
1. Follow through with project 365.
2. Start printing more of my pages and get them in albums already!
3. Scrap more often. Period.
4. Become more involved at DD.
5. Finish the paper scrapped album I abandoned when I started digital scrapping!

I would like to do the 365 project with Ali's Template. But to not stress about it I agree I can miss and few days and fill in the days I forget to take a photo with an image that represents that day.

Before mid-February, I need to finish the essential pages from July-December to make a Photobook for my MIL to go with the January-June one I gave her for Christmas.

I would also like pick one day each month and do a layout about that day.

Finally, I need to fill in the gap I have between where I stopped paper and started digital. There's about 1 1/2 year gap. I have all this paper stuff so I probably do it all hybrid.

My only new toy to play with is my 75-300 Canon lens. I can't wait for Spring soccer season!

how very cool these all are!
I'm set on doing my recipe book - I have a billion great recipes all on tatty bits of paper, two friends already want copies so thats a great incentive!
joining more flickr groups and getting back the swing of our one from here.
and collecting more reflection photos - reflections in odd things of myself and my family.

Ooo, thanks for the reminder! I also wanted to do a recipe book! I even took pictures of the dishes at Thanksgiving so that I could include those once a year dishes that I make.

I've developed a very bad habit lately of playing more games than scrapping when I sit down to my computer. And now it doesn't help that I have a new laptop with some fun new Vista games to tempt me!
So my resolutions for 2009 are:

1. Do some scrapping every day.
2. Learn new techniques from our Cassie!
3. Make a Shutterfly book of our trip to Ireland in June of 09.
4. Scan all the photos in the big paper scrapped albums of my kids so I can digi-scrap them for me, and let the kids have their albums!

Thanks for this thread. I might not have thought about this without it!!!

I love the idea of a mission statement too!! Scrapping goals would be...
Project 365, follow through even if I miss a day, just don't quit. This also entails learning more about photography, composition, etc.
Journal and blog more.
Post on flickr
Learn more about design concepts for better pages.
Comment more on the fabulous pages I am so inspired by.
Start our family recipe book (thanks for reminding me Melanie!!)
Do a page with these goals, so that I don't forget about them

Not really a resolution but just ongoing things. Organize my Scrapping supplies (on my computer) and try to do better things with my camera!

Love this thread-here are my goals:
Project 365-take a photo a day and post on flicker. Make weekly layouts. Upload weekly pages to Shutterfly as completed.
Scan and scrap birth books for each of my adult kids.
Take a class about journaling!
Think outside the box when doing pages!

Scrap more period...i tend to buy way more than I scrap.
Hopefully scrapping more will lead to better technique and page composition
Journal more on my pages
Organize my stash better
Participate in the 365 project.
Learn to take better pictures.
Finish my sister's wedding album
Scrap all the pictures from the many family events of the last 2 years

Wow didn't realize I had this many scrapping goals, thanks for reminding me how unorganized I am....lol

  • a photo a day
  • two layouts a week
  • two tutorials per month
  • photos with ME in them
  • more comments on gallery pages

These things would make me happy.

School tends to get in the way of my scrapping, so my goals are pretty simple:
-Project 365...with 1-2 layouts each week.
-Organize my digi scrap supplies.
-Figure out how to take photo masterpieces with my canon point and shoot.
-Finish a cookbook I started a LONG time ago as a wedding present for a friend of mine.
-Keep all of my digital photos organized

Here we go -hate putting things like this in print form - makes it real!

1. 365 - I can already see this will be a fun thing for our family & we look back and see what we were doing or what caught my eye on any given day.

2. Cookbook - I have been thinking about this also - my oldest is always calling & asking for a recipe - sometimes the same one over & over - so, I could make all of us a copy!

3. Take an online scrapping class - have several in mind & just need to DO it!

4. Buy Lightroom - gotta' have that little miracle tool!

5. Learn more about the manual modes on my camera - I use manual almost all the time, but there are several different manual modes & I need to find which work for different situations & what I can change in each one.

Phew - that's enough for now

I have a few...

1) Try and do more layouts that actually tell a story, rather than just a photo and title.
2) Learn how to take better pictures.
3) Project 365
4) Start my AAM book (which I've been meaning to do for months LOL!)

Here are mine:
1. Submit more to magazines.
2. Wrap up every photo that I would want to scrap of Spencer before the baby arrives in May.
3. Work on my AAM book.

This is a great thread. So fun.

Here are mine:
1. Like Kayleigh, I need to finish scrapping my Trent photos and finalize his one year album before the new baby comes. I promised myself that I'd finish by the end of February. Did I really say that outloud?

2. Create an AAM book. Every page but one that I've done has been about Trent, and I think it'd be fun to do one about myself to look back on someday. I've been wanting to do this since I scrapped a wedding photo for Tara and Kayleigh's blog, but just haven't done it. Maybe this will be the year.

3. scrap more often, and participate in Tara and Kayleigh's challenges as well as the Sat. Scraplifts again.

4. Use products I've never used before "gulp" before I buy new ones.

Oh no. Now, I'll need to follow through since I've put my scrapping resolutions in writing. I always put my New Year's Resolutions on the refrigerator to remind me, so maybe I'll print this and put it on the fridge....or better yet...next to my computer.

Oh, these are good, ladies! So many of these things I want to do myself, but I really really would like to:
  • scrap two pages a week
  • Buy a second EHD
  • Back up weekly
  • Find time to leave more praise in the gallery
  • Continue to purge and organize my photos
  • Finish scrapping Emma's baby pictures

Do an aam book
Get and learn Lightroom
Be more organized and disciplined with my time
Scan and scrap ds book-age birth to 18
Get Christmas book printed at Shutterfly
Try to get more friends and family into digital

I better stop there. I don't want to overwhelm myself too much.
