Default Lightroom and iPhoto

I know that Lightroom is highly recommended and I am considering it. I am downloading the trial today.

I was just wondering if those who have Macs do you also use iPhoto or exclusively Lightroom for organization. Right now I like iPhoto and I am thinking about Lightroom for the other things that I think you can do. Just wondering if the two fit together or what?

Thanks

I dont consider myself a good example... not everything is totally organised here
How ever I download to LR, delete the ones that are awful, fix the ones I want to keep. and then once a month -or before that if its a photo crazy special occasion- I import a batch to iphoto to 'keep' if you see what I mean. this means I can purge my Lr library every now and then too.

I have a Mac. I don't have Lightroom. I don't use iPhoto for organization.

I use PSE for photo editing and creating scrapbook pages.
I use Adobe Bridge for viewing my photos and my digital design kits.

Sometimes, I create a slide show in iPhoto, but, it is not where I keep the majority of my photos. I keep photos in folders on my desktop so I can easily view them in Bridge. I decide which photos I want to keep on my computer until I scrap a page using them and the rest get uploaded to Shutterfly and burned to CD's. After making sure the photos are uploaded to Shutterfly and burned to a back up CD, I delete them from my computer.

Is Bridge expensive? I have heard a lot about it.

I'm on a Mac and really like iPhoto. I tried Lightroom and liked it, but I also tried Aperture from Apple and liked it even better. Aperture provides me the easy integration with other iLife programs that I like about iPhoto, and the interface just made more sense to me than that of Lightroom. Lightroom is a great program--but Aperture made more sense to me. Since I purchased Aperture, I'm only using iPhoto for a handful of things--though I left my former library intact rather than import it into Aperture.

So--not saying you shouldn't get Lightroom, but I'd encourage you to look into Aperture as well. Apple also offers a free trial, so you can try it out. (And it's cheaper at Amazon than at Apple.)
