Default year in review templates - help!

Wondered if anyone could help.
Opened my template. Brought a pic #1 over, put it in the frame #1. OK.

Brought another pic #2 over and for some funny reason when I tried to resize/move the pic it had a hole cut out exactly the same size and shape as pic #1 and it had replaced pic#1 in frame #1.

I must be missing something really important.

Which year-in-review template are you working with? We'll be able to help more then!

Did you have the "marching ants" still selected on the first photo on your layout and then you put pic #2 on top of that?

Wink

I took the marching ants off the first photo and merged the layers even!

I am using the YIR templates, not the Year by Year. Does that help? They are the ones that have the months stamped on them.

Also, message keeps coming up that "some text layers might need to be updated before they can be used for vector based output. Do you want to update now?" What's that about?

I am in PSE6. Thanks!

Im not very technical when it come to explaining, but it sounds like your Pic 2 is just clipped above the wrong layer. Make sure you place it over the correct layer in the layers palatte and clip it to the appropriate place. I hope that makes sense. As for the message, it just means that there are fonts on the templates that you don't have in your fonts file. It is not a big deal you just wont be able to use those fonts, you will have to use ones you have, or download the ones that were used in the template. Hope I helped a little.

Hi again,
Yes, I agree with bailey that it sounds like you have the photo in the wrong layer. As for the text comment, sounds like I missed flattening some text. It will still print and save, you can't change that text though. If you let me know which month I can take a look at it and re-save it for you!

HTH!

Thanks for all your help. I re-clipped it and it seems to work.
Question about text path. Not too good at that.
How do I replace the text? And, does that message mean I can't replace the text path? Or should I just delete that layer?
Thanks - last question about this. I'm on the April 2008 template.
