Red face What do you think about changing size of elements?

Actually I would like to know what do you think about what exactly digital sb is. There are types of pages, which seem exactly like photos taken of an originally papercrafted sb page. Others look like as well tipographed dtp works. And there are pages which are the good combinations of both.

BUT, what do you think? If sy (for example me ) likes to make a page in the let say first style, is it an unholy thing or a beginner-style, if she reduces the size of an embellishment? Let say, we do it like we would do paper crafting, the only difference is that we do not have messy hands when we finish it. But everything is the same: we use papers and embellishments. And in paper crafting you cannot change the size e.g. a button or a tag or a ribbon.

You know, I never change the size of papers, if I need it a smaller size than the original, I always cut it and never resize the slice I cut. But, when I put an embellishment onto a smaller page than the original kit was, it is sometimes too big (big like a horse - in Hungarian hehehe). Then I used to resize it.

So what do you think? What is common in "classic" digital sb - if there are any rules, or habits or sg? Is it an unholy thing or just a comfortable use?

I am so curious what the users and the designers think - they may see it at the first sight, if sg has changed during the use of their dear creations! Hm?

as a scrapper, I am always resizing elements and papers to fit onto my pages. Heck..that's the beauty of digital! We aren't constrained or limited in any way! Those poor paper scrappers don't have the magic of the mouse to help them out

As a designer, I have no problem with people resizing my things to fit their needs. Again...I do it so everyone else can do it too

I say recolour, resize, blend papers together and generally have fun! One of the great things about digital is you can be creative even with the way the papers and elements look not just how you use them!

Gigi...Hence the beauty of digital!!! You can do whatever your little heart desires and it is just fine!! I am always resizing, using blending modes, taking several elements and combining them into one, recoloring. You can experirment as far as your imagination can take you!! Just try that with a piece of paper...lol!!!

My only rule is never restrict myself to rules! The result is what ever you want to see or have on your LO...you're in charge so just go for it

btw, I have more of a paper scrapping style and I change elements all the time. As a paper scrapper I would buy a bag of buttons (example: different shades of pink, different sizes) ---- as a digi scrapper I might get 1 pink button in a kit and will need to change the shade and size myself. So it's really not "unholy" at all

Totally love to 'adapt' - nearly always shrinking elements (my motto is that you can never have to many elements on a page and the smaller they are the more you can fit LOL), often changing colours.
I love the versatility you get by being able to do that

I agree with what everyone has said...that's one of the many unique abilities of digital scrapbooking!! You can get as creative as your mind (and skills) will allow!!

Thank you, girls! Now I know I do not have to take it too serious! If you say that, I also will do it with clear conscience... Thank you for your quick replies!

ITA with what everyone said. It's definitely one thing I LOVE about digital—you can go as far as your creativity and imagination can take you {and beyond!}.

Yep, I do it all the time... I cut things up, recolor them, resize. Part of the digi fun!

It's weird how, while we are all creative, there are certain stretches that our brains won't easily make. I mean, I paper scrap and I digi scrap, but I have to concentrate on blending the two. My paper pages are 100% paper, with handwritten journaling, and my digi pages are 100% digi. I have to consciously stop and think of ways to blend the two. It's like there is a blind spot in my creativity. Do you ever find that?
