Red face Dull Layouts??

Is anyone else having any issues with the uploaded layouts looking dull or a bit washed out? I am doing the same things I always do, I work in CS and I save a copy of my layout in jpeg @ 750x750 ppi. The last 2 layouts I have posted have really lost their vibrancy?!

Any suggestions?

I haven't noticed it with my last few uploads Laura. I'm wondering if it is perhaps a setting with your browser??

No- it looks like something happens between the psd version and the jpeg conversion. The colors are different if you look at them side by side. Help!

I've found the same. Pioneer Woman just posted in her blog about this same problem - with a solution. I haven't given it a try yet...

You need to make sure that the file you upload in the gallery is in the sRGB color profile or your colors will be off.

Ok, I was wondering why it kept asking me about source colors not matching, etc. I didn't really know what it meant. It started when I was trying to match some of the colors in the photo for the layout.

I went back and made sure it was in sRGB. Thanks!

I used to have this problem. When Kathy02 was the creative team spotlight she suggested that you flatten your page and apply an unsharp mask with 70/.5/0 setting. This has worked for me everytime.

What is the default? If you go to Convert Color Profile and the sRGB option is dulled out does that mean it is already sRGB?

This isn't probably the best solution but how about increasing saturation by about 10-12 before uploading? That is part of my "Save for web" process. I usually increase the saturation.

This old thread might help you:
