Hi Everyone,

I'm going to have some roman shades made for my family room, and I'm looking for a fun fabric - maybe some type of paisley or floral. I want something different and bright. Do any of you have any ideas. I went to several stores in San Diego, but I didn't find anything. I've googled several different key words and looked at several sites, but nothing is standing out for me. Of course, Potterybarn has a few fabrics that I love, but they don't offer those fabrics in fabric by the yard or drapes.

Thanks for any suggestions that you can offer.

So, not only is digital scrapping new for me, using forums is as well - so hopefully you all will have patience with me. :D My history of computer use includes uploading pictures, email and blog-hopping and -stalking. Really. I have been very intrigued with digital scrapping, but always told myself I love the 'touchy' creative aspect with glue and paper. . . THEN on one of my blogstalk stops - Cathy Zielske - I discovered her templates and this site. . . wow! I took the first Jessica Sprague class and downloaded a Getting Started class here from Cassie and . . . away we go!! I have already finished a layout and had it printed at Costco and have a book planned for a Christmas gift - so hopefully I will now figure out how to upload stuff here to the gallery and get help - and maybe someday soon be able to help others!!!

Thanks for the awesome site - I LOVE LOVE LOVE the scrapping styles here!!

I simply cannot get one of my layouts down to posting size. I've set the dpi to 72 and I'm saving as a jpeg, but no matter what I do to the quality slider of the jpeg save dialog box, my layout stays at 2.1 mb, which of course is way too large for posting here at DD. I've never had the experience of not being able to shrink the size to something manageable. I tried cropping the image all around in case there were pieces of paper sticking out that were adding to the size, and I've tried deleting all the layers that weren't visible. But something about this file is huge and won't be tamed. Any ideas?

I started creating composites for friends and family. Basically I create an 18 by 6 document and merge 5 favorite pictures from a session I do. (Now I've been photographing children playing/throwing leaves.)
I have been printing the composites on photo paper- but everyone has been asking if I can get the composites mounted- such as on gatorboard or styrofoam.

Does anyone know a place that does this?

Thanks!!

Hello All!

I am trying to nail down my Christmas Card idea and hope that it works. I am using one of Pattie Knox's templates (snowflake). I put a very deep navy blue textured paper as the bottom layer (Jen Wilson Blue Attitude from the New Attitude Kit). I have the Epson R2400 printer. For now, I am printing on Ultra Premium Presentation Matte Paper. When my print came out the blue was so DEEEEEP you could not see any of the texture. I'm sure there is a better way, but I am playing with the opacity to just try to lighten it up. It sure doesn't look like it does on my monitor. Also, my printer menu gives me the option to let the printer manage the colors or Photoshop. I am using CS 3and it appears that by selecting Photoshop to manage the colors it is slightly better. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this beautiful paper stand out?

Thanks,

Do you have a family timeline? I have one that goes right back to 1957 when I was married. It's pretty loose and most events and activities of my family are broken up into the different countries we've lived. 1957 dh and I moved from London to live in Hawaii until 1962, then on to Wash DC, Md, where we had our daughters. We lived in Turkey, Japan, and so on. I have births, wedding dates, vacations all in a Word document on my iMac dock.

If you haven't started one, I'd encourage you to. I realize it's easier today with your scrapbooks and dated photos, but I've found having one right at my fingertips is so handy and helpful. As you grow older your photos and books collection will become larger and more difficult to find info, and the memory DOES wear thin.

My timeline has followed me from a written journal page, to a number of word processing programs and now it's on my iMac. I need to update mine, but I'm so glad I started it years ago.

Just a thought...........
