Cool Mask + Blend added info

In the forum event last night some asked to see the original photo etc for my sample layout... so here goes...

This is the page with the main photo before masking and blending

The next step was to apply the mask

And then blended on Vivid Light

Additionally in the event, I mentioned using masks on unexpected things like a tag. Visuals were again requested so I've put together a sample...

Using the Basic Tags and paper from Letter Box Colors: Red

Place a tag on your page

Position a mask [I used the chat freebie]

Use the mask to hide part of the tag by
> turning off visibility on the mask layer
> the the mask an active selection [command+click on the layer in the layer palette] [ctrl+click on PC]
> click on the tag layer and Layer > Layer Mask > Hide selection

And continue the artistry from there!
Think about merging a photo and vintage frame together and applying the steps... or to a title... or journaler... just think beyond the expected and you'll expand your artistry

Thanks ever so much for these images Katie! I've learned in digital scrapping that I'm like Anke...I learn by seeing, not reading. Now I get it...by George she's got it!! Looking forward to playing with these beauties now.

Hope you're feeling better!
