This sounds like fun and challenges are what I need to get scrapping sometimes!!! The generous prizes would be so welcome, too!!! I always have a wish list a mile long!!!!!

OMG... this looks like so much fun. Too bad I dont have more stash built up from here yet.

Do we have to be involved in each week? Or could I jump in later?

You can jump in anytime during the month for that week's contest.

How exciting!! Do I have it correct that each person is to post only one page per week?? Just to clarify!! Can't wait to study all the great pages.

I did a quick search in the forums and didn't really find anything...I'm wondering what exactly defines "heritage?"

Joanne, just create a layout using DD product that fits the challenge for the week you want to enter. Katie Pertiet has written out the instructions and rules at the top of this thread. Then, make sure when you post the layout in the gallery that you choose to put it in the contest gallery.

That's all there is to it. If you post a page in the contest gallery you'll be considered for the prize for that week.

BTW, welcome to DD! There are always fun challenges and contests at DD. Be sure to check out the freebies in the store, too. It will help you get started with DD product for your entry.

Have fun, everyone!

There must be something wrong with me that I can't scrap unless I have a deadline! Oh, I can scrap, I just never seem to finish a LO!

I just uploaded mine. I noticed nobody else is leaving links, so I am either in the wrong thread, or just posting it to the DD gallery is enough.

Hi Limequilla! I think we all do better under pressure of a deadline!

You're in the right spot. I saw yours in the contest gallery and you're good to go! You're in!

I also found it a good laugh to know that 1979s is vintage!! Who would have thought that??

Been gone too long! Life... what can I say. Does anyone know.... Can we back track and post last weeks and still get in on this? Most likely I will do it just for the fun of it, but want to play too with everyone.

Sorry, last weeks gallery is closed and the CT are already voting. You can always enter through the rest of the contest.

I have a question. I am new to scrapbooking and have no idea what you mean by brushwork. I use Corel PSP Ultimate and I know I have a bunch of brushes in it. I just don't know what I am supposed to do with them. Also, in round 4, is it create a page entirely from brush strokes. If that is the case, mine will look like a toddlers first drawing. LOL. But in all honesty, I am seriously not sure what I am suppose to do. Please help. Thanks.

Welcome to DD! You do not have to create a page using only brushes. There are so many different ways to use them and so many different brushes in the store. Here's a link to the brushes:
Brushes
Also, Cassie has a tutorial in the store, however it is for Adobe Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. Brush Tool Basics. I don't know much about the program you are using. Hopefully someone else will chime in!

Yes, welcome to DD, KatInMa! So glad you're here with us.

Here's a link from the "Getting Started" section here at DD about how to load brushes in Photoshop. Maybe reading it will give you a better idea about what is meant by a brush and you can check your software for directions.

Like Brittany said, there are numerous ways to use brushes. Just a few examples: use them to edge photos or borders, to create a soft subtle background, to distress a paper or photo.

One thing you might do to help you learn what is meant by brush work is to go through the gallery and look at the credits listed for the layout to notice what brushes the person used to create the layout.
Here's just a few to get you started:
Sharon added a leaf motif:
At First - Digital Scrapbooking Ideas - DesignerDigitals

Kathie02 created a lovely background with subtle brushes.
dear mother nature - Digital Scrapbooking Ideas - DesignerDigitals

Steph used a brush to edge both sides of her photo:

Katie, once we've submitted a LO to a challenge, can we revise it while the challenge is still open? A LO I submitted needed some journaling, so I wanted to add a page to include the journaling. Can I upload the spread as an edit, or do I have to delete the old and resubmit the new? If the latter, can I just submit the second page outside the challenge gallery and link it? I want to make sure I'm playing within the rules! (Though you know the old saying, "It's better to ask forgiveness than permission. ;-) Thanks for your help! ;-)
