Here's a high impact photo technique to give your photo a graphic pop.
Open the photo in Photoshop or Elements.
Press Ctrl U (Mac: Cmd U) on the keyboard. This activates the Hue/Saturation dialog box.
Drag the Saturation slider all the way to the left and click OK. This turns the photo into a black and white image.
Press Ctrl J (Mac: Cmd J) to duplicate the image.
Posterize the top layer:
Select the top layer in the Layers panel and choose Image > Adjustments > Posterize.
Select the top layer and choose Filter > Adjustments > Posterize.
Drag the Posterize slider all the way to the left (Level 2) and click OK.
Finally, change the blending mode of the top layer to Screen to blend the original black and white image with the posterized image.
