While it is wise to have money in your own name and account as I do and have done through our marriage, it is also important to have access info to each other's accounts. We have so many on line ones these days that I had to remind Dick to provide me a list of all such accounts and passwords - just in case.
On another note, I have see, in a former job, too many women whose husbands either died or left them after clearing out the bank accounts with NO clue of how 'their' money had been handled. If your marriage is good, your spouse will be glad to make sure you are protected from endless time and grief after death. If your marriage or parntership isn't good, then I advise you to be sure accounts that have the bulk of your family $$ in them include both of you as signators etc
Now back to our regular scheduled shopping!
