Sam, that's why I'm convinced that the southern hemisphere should celebrate Christmas in June. There are other more pertinent reasons, but the gist of it is that it should be celebrated in the coldest part of the year, wherever you are, when the days are the shortest. If I lived down there, I'd lobby to have Christmas changed.

Having it on the same day all around the world is centrist, I think. (Don't know a word for geographical snobbery!)
