I love the Rainbow Bridge, Kathie talked about above. I remember when I had to put my Curry dog down after 14 years (also a golden). I told the vet we'd have to come back tomorrow cause we were going home for one last dinner. He got steak off the grill and I got communion with my friend. When we arrived at the vet's he trotted in because they all adored him and kept him with them whenever he had been boarded. We just all sat on the floor in the examining room and he put his head in my lap and the vet gave him the injection. He looked up at me and we held eye contact until his eye closed. It was the sweetest exit I could imagine. I asked the vet about the half life for whatever was in that injection because I would really like to have it for me. That was ten years ago and I still miss Curry.
