I use a laptop. Have you ever printed out some photos or a layout so you can check how light or dark they are? Even though I upload my layouts to Shutterfly for printing in albums, every so often I print out a layout on my home printer, just to check. Through a little bit of trial and error, I've learned I need to lighten up my pics and pages just a touch from what I see on the screen.

If there is some more scientific way to do this, I'd like to learn, too.

Oh, and, I calibrate my monitor, too. I found the directions to do that under Help in my Finder. I'm on a Mac.
