It very interesting that so many people have the idea that post processing photos is new, or somehow dishonest. Photos have been post processed since the beginning in the dark room using burn, dodge and other techniques to make them just a little better. Now we have wonderful digital helpers, many that have been mentioned already. The thing that has helped my photography the most though is learning the basics about what makes a great photo. I have learned so much here from Katrina and others. I'd highly recommend her class at "Get It Scrapped" and then Lynn's Digital Editing class as it's complement.
