Laura, I bought the Crumpler 6 mil on Pattie's suggestion. (tan with bright green lining... black strap) I love it and it goes with me everywhere. I carry my EOS with two extra lenses plus I have a slot for my large wallet and another slot for a small make-up kit... bare basics. I like having the dividers that are provided and I have moved them a bit to accomodate what I carry. Also, the flap over the top has a nice sized zippered compartment for flat items... checkbook, notes etc. I would think the 7 mil would be fine too. The loaded 6 mil is not light, by any means, but it has not been a problem. Also, it is wide (font to back) and does stick out. The strap is padded, which is a necessity. I do get comments about what I have in this bag but I love having it with me all the time. I also have the Lowes 200 slingshot that I will use for hikes or other outings of that nature. So, for carrying all the gear, it works well. Hope this is helpful.
