I started doing it when I was pretty new to scrapbooking (digi is the only one I have really ever done), and have found that doing it has taught me a lot. Seeing everyone else's layouts help inspire me and teach me so much.
As well, it is a great gallery for getting a wider range of viewers / commentators than you may normally get which gives me at least a better understanding of what is and isn't working on my pages to grow from.
New scrapbookers, old scrapbookers (not age but time doing it) both teach completely different things to me. So I don't really do it mainly for the "contest" but for the challenge and inspiration... but come on, who wouldn't love to win, I just don't do it ever expecting to so my winning is what it teaches me along the journey from all of you.
I keep looking for some of you active ladies to join in... I see lots of great pages by you but not in the contest gallery & I bet looking through your month of pages, you could get 3 that fit the assignments easily and have another 3 you enjoy to throw your hat in by the end of April
