Very, very cute! Sam, I am betting it won't really be too short--I think it is just stretched onto the baby's head. With the right yarn it would have some give and stretch easily. Any good knitting shop should be able to tell you choices of yarn that would be really soft, full of that texture and have enough stretch to pull up in back. LOVE IT!!
