Thanks everyone for your comments, I'm feeling a bit better that I'm not the only one! It's funny to think that mobile phones can take higher res shots than my camera. Interesting point you make Sarah about enlarging to 12x12. Now that you say that, I had noticed, just thought the photo wasn't focused. Well, later this year my dh has a Significant Birthday coming up, and he's talking about getting a DSLR (I've been reading all the posts about Nikon v Sony v Canon to find out as much as I can). However you've all reminded me that it's good to have a point-and-shoot handy on some occasions, and I loved your comment MaryAnn! This'll do for now
