The best advice I've seen about adding lenses is to wait until you really see a hole in your collection that you want to fill. Your 50mm 1.4 will be super indoors for moving kids, and your kit lens has a huge range, so I'd really hold off until you have a better sense for what will make the most sense.

I thought I was all about nature photos and would want a long zoom, but the more pictures I take, the more I realize how much I love portraits and candid people, so the top lenses on my wish list have changed a lot in 6 months. (I've a hankering for the 85mm f/1.8 right now.) Had I bought another lens right away, I think I might have made an expensive mistake.
