The Story Scrapbook Challenge

Hi everyone, I’m excited to bring you another Story Scrapbook Challenge.  It can be really daunting to journal till your heart’s content but it just brings so much extra emotion to a page.  I can’t tell you the joy I feel when I see my friends or relatives sitting down and READING one of my scrapbooks.  Not just looking at the photos and the page design, but I see them smiling, laughing, reminiscing, and yes even tearing up, when reading the words on the page.  My words, My voice.  Yes my books are for my family, but I’m the story teller, I want my pages to come alive with my voice.

The CT have once again come up with the goods, and what fantastic stories have been told.

Myra has put together the most wonderful page.  Told from the heart as only she can.  A story of her feelings about a certain time in her life and a very special little dog, a story that may never have even been known unless she put it down.  Please do read this, it’s amazing.

Supplies used:  Gone to the Dogs Page Kit (Pattie Knox).   Annelise Solids (Maplebrook Studios).   Collageables No 04 (Katie Pertiet).

Sharon is making a series of terrific pages of her memories of her childhood.  Oh how I remember the milk coming to the schools, something long since past in Australia, I don’t know about America.  What a gift this will be to anyone who has the opportunity to see these pages, such a tribute to a bygone era.

Supplies used:  Notebook Paper Pack,  Notebook Edge Photo Masks No. 03,  Watery Photo Masks No. 02,  Dictionary Blendables: School No. 01,  Vintage Photo Frames No. 31,  Vintage Milk Caps No. 01,  Bursting Words Brushes and Stamps,  Metal Clip Assortment,  School Mates Kit,  Watery Spots Brushes and Stamps No. 07 (Katie Pertiet).  And goodies from the freebie.

And I was sitting here on the couch last weekend watching the football on TV and it made me think of a very special football Grand Final I attended with my dad, I started telling my husband about it, and just knew I had to get this story down onto a page.  Perfect timing for the challenge.

Supplies used:  Beneath Walls paper pack (GrungeSource).  Painted Photo Masks No.4,  Pinned Wood Veneers No.1,  Striping with Navy Paper Pack,  Flagged Words Brushes and Stamps No. 03,  Roughed Up Pocket Cards: Striped No. 01,  Vintage Charm Kit,  Striping Graphic Brushes and Stamps No. 01 (Katie Pertiet).  Ripped and Stitched Do-it-yourself No. 04 (Lynn Grieveson).  And goodies from the freebie.

The team at DD have provided a freebie to help you on your way, and the rule of the challenge is to use at least one product from this freebie pack.

Post your pages in the Weekly Challenge Gallery by Sunday 14 July at 12midnight EST using mostly DesignerDigitals products. Pages that use ALL DesignerDigitals products are eligible for a $5 store gift certificate that will be randomly awarded close of the contest.  Remember to use at least one challenge freebie and have fun!

I can’t wait to read your precious stories.
