The Story Scrapbook Challenge

Hi there, the Story Scrapbook Challenge is back again.  What freedom to be able to put down a story on a page, be it a personal, indepth, heartwrenching story, or just one of those whimsical stories that make us essentially us.  I love it.

It’s easy, just sit down, hands on the keyboard and type.  I don’t tend to worry about my punctuation to be absolutely perfect.  Ah ha!  Shock horror from the teachers and literary amongst us.  I’ll show my husband a page and he’ll read the journaling and start informing me that I need a comma here, or a new paragraph there.  But you know what … I write like I talk.  I don’t talk with fullstops or semi-colans.  I do however talk with a lot of exclamation marks!!!!

We have a great responsibility being the story tellers for our families and friends and loved ones.  It’s a role we choose to take and being the scrapbookers we are we cherish.

So please join with us in The Story Scrapbook Challenge.   Here are some example pages from the creative team.

Chrissy has put together an amazing page with a story about her precious Aunt Margaret who started her on the road to Scrapbooking.  This isn’t just a story about her Aunt, it’s a story about a beginning of a love shared, an amazing relationship and what a huge part in Chrissy’s life she played.  Sensational.

Supplies used:  Artsy Paint No.6,  Faded Berry cardstock bundle,  All You Need Overlays,  Around Words Brushes and Stamps No. 04,  Artistry de Blanco Kit,  Away We Go Kit,  Bead Scatterings No. 03,  Collageables No. 02,  DelMar Shores Scrapbooking Kit,  Doily Edgers No. 03,  Eat Cake Kit,  Flagged Words Brushes and Stamps No. 02,  Graphic Pop Dots: Mom Brushes and Stamps,  Letter Box Garden Song Kit,  Life Lines Scrapbooking Kit,  Messy Stitched Borders: Golden No. 01,  Notebook Paper Pack No. 05,  Stacked Vintage Photo Frames No. 05,  Stamped Blocks No. 31 Brushes and Stamps,  Sweet St. Nicholas Kit,  Terra Botanica Kit,  Winter Peony Kit,  Word Strip Labels No. 02 (Katie Pertiet).   Poppies Kit,  Rustica Kit,  Sweet Marie Kit,  Worn Page Edges No. 02 (Lynn Grieveson).  Noemi Kit (Maplebrook Studios).  With Gratitude Brushes and Stamps (Ali Edwards).  And the goodies from the freebie pack.

Steph, oh my!  She truly is a story teller.  I love this page, she not only describes the achievements of her children throughout the year, but her thoughts turn to the future and what she will be feeling when the day comes that they leave home.  You don’t just get this from a photograph.  It’s a master story teller that will leave such long lasting memories with stories.

And lastly my page.  Everyone who knows me knows I love animals, particularly my canine varieties J and I guess a lot of people would think I have had dogs all my life.  But I haven’t.  My first dog Molly came as a package deal when I got married!!  So my story tells of our relationship, which grew over time, and now I can’t bear to be without her.
