The Story Scrapbook Challenge

Righto so we’re going down a different path this time due to a great idea by one of our CT members, thanks Lynnie!  It’s a ripper.

I want you to tell a “different voice” story.  What’s that I hear you ask?  I want you to tell a story in any voice other than your own.   Don’t run away … get your thinking caps on, this could be liberating.

So for instance, you might use the voice of your house and well you’ve heard the saying ‘if these walls could talk’ well maybe they will on your page.  You might use the voice of a dining room table and want to regale us of the fantastic family events that have taken place around you.  You might use the voice of a piece of jewelry and want to tell your history.  You might use the voice of an old forgotten trophy that has a story of achievement.  You might use the voice of a car that has had many adventures.  You might use the voice of some old cherished concert tickets that have a memory of a night held dear.  You might use the voice of an item that has been handed down through the generations telling us about all who owned you.  You might use the voice of the family home telling the story of all who has lived in you.  You might use the voice of a cherished family toy who has been so very loved.  You might have a photograph of an ancestor and the ancestor will tell his/her own story to you in their voice.

And if this is too hard, how about you tell a story in a voice other than yours right now.  So you might want to be the younger you dreaming of what you wanted to be when you grew up.

This is your story to tell.  Yes it is going to push you.  But I think it can be liberating telling the story using a different voice.

I was swamped with offers from the creative team and they are such great examples.

Firstly the brainchild of this idea Lynnie has had her shoes she wore to her daughter’s wedding tell the story of the day.  And what a day they endured !

Supplies used by Lynnie:     Canvas Colors Paper Pack No. 04,  Watery Aztec Brushes and Stamps No. 01,  Little Enamel Accents Rainbow,  DoodleDo This and That Overlays No. 02,  Basic Bare Chipboard Alpha No 4,  Artistry No. 01 Paper Pack,  La Puerta Paper Pack.

Then Merrilee has created the most amazing page in the voice of her grandmother in the form of a letter.  How cute Merr is!  What a story, I urge you to read it.   It’s so descriptive and so beautifully told.

And then we’ll move onto Sarah, my oh my, love love love this.  How attached are we to our cars, right?  Well this car has a story to tell.   It’s a terrific story.
