Template Challenge: Scrap Express No. 119

Hi everyone!  It’s Nancy here with another bi-weekly template challenge for you.  Goodness the time has flown!  Not only is it hard to believe it’s time for a new challenge, but I was counting the number of weeks left in our kid’s summer vacation and realized we’re at nearly the halfway mark already!  Summer is such a whirlwind of activities, isn’t it?  There are so many stories just waiting to be told!  With that in mind, we’re featuring one of Lynn Grieveson’s Scrap Express templates this week.  It is actually a template set with the versatility to scrap one to five or more photos, depending on your needs.  The Creative Team members who took on this challenge all created single page layouts, but feel free to create a double page layout if it better suits your photos.  Let’s look at some inspiration from the team, for using  Scrap Express No. 119  .

Scrap Express 119

First, we have this darling page by Sharon (Shannamay), featuring her adorable granddaughter pushing her very own “trolley”, aka “shopping cart” for those of us living in the US.  I don’t know about you, but I love the word “trolley”, it is so much more charming than a plain old shopping cart!

Sharon used the right hand side of the page set and adjusted the size of the photo mats to better suit her photos.  I didn’t realize when I chose this set that it features photo mats instead of frames, until Sharon pointed it out to me by saying that is a feature she is especially fond of because they are so quick and easy for her to alter.  I love her cute title treatment and clever use of shopping related items that support her theme.  Wonderful page, Sharon!

In addition to the featured template set, Sharon used: Textured Cardstock: Faded Berry Paper Pack, Spot Dots: Faded Berry Value Paper Pack, Blitzen Element Pack, Tailed Journalers No. 2, Coded Brushes and Stamps No. 1, Haunted Twists No. 1, Groceria Alphabet No. 01, Bead Scatterings No. 02, Vintage Blendables No. 10, Astro Element Pack, Grungy Ledger Grid Brushes and Stamps, Pattern Mix: Happy Girl Paper Pack, and Banner Masks No. 01 by Katie Pertiet. Just Tonals No. 12 by Maplebrook Studios. Epoxy Extravaganza: Everyday Things by Pattie Knox. And Today You Brackets by Ali Edwards.

Thank you Sharon!

Next, we have another adorable baby page by Janet (JALong).  Janet used the left side of the template set for a single stunning black and white photo and surrounded it with her signature colorful papers and elements. Gorgeous page, Janet!

In addition to the featured template, Janet used: Jennika Solids Paper Pack, Geometric Hints Brushes and Stamps No. 04, Scribbling Brushes and Stamps No. 03, Messy Stamped Alpha No. 04, Clean Stitched Circles: White No. 01, Littlest Farmer Kit, Hey Missy Complete Scrapbooking Collection, Assorted Messy Stitches: White No. 02, Anders Kit, Love Tickets No. 02, Staple Its!, Celebrating Multiples Hand Drawn Word Art Brushes and Stamps, Sentiments and Greetings Hand Drawn Brushes.

Thank you Janet!

Finally, I, (Nancy Beck) also used the right hand page for a layout about my Daughter helping the boys with a Cub Scout Day Camp assignment that she was somewhat ill equipped for.  I reduced the grouping of elements on the template  and nudged them over a bit to make room for a blended close up of the compass they used and a large block for the somewhat lengthly journaling this page called for.

Putting-the-'Red-In-The-Shed'

In addition to the featured template, I used: Enamel Brads Alpha No. 1, Story Savers, Pine Creek Add On Paper Pack, Scout Stickers, December Nights Kit, Yarn Swirls, Atlantic Brushes and Krafty Notebook Paper.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you enjoyed seeing three very different takes on the featured template set and I hope you might find time to join us.  Don’t forget to post your pages in the Template Challenge Gallery.  This template set as well as roughly 400 additional items will be on sale at 30% off the regular price this Thursday July 4th!  Have a happy and safe holiday!
